Donghu Hotel

Location. The historic Dong Hu Hotel is located in the Xuhui district of Shanghai, China, one kilometer from Nanjing Road and three kilometers from Yu Garden.
Hotel Features. The renovated historic hotel includes seven buildings. The entry area includes a fountain surrounded by flower beds. The oldest of the buildings is a French villa style structure originally built as a home in 1925. Dong Hu Hotel includes six restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, including Shanghainese, Cantonese, Sichuanese, Korean and Japanese. The hotel also includes coffee shops and bars. The hotel provides a business center and conference rooms. High speed Internet access is available in public areas for a fee. Recreation amenities include a health club, an indoor pool, a sauna and a steam room. The hotel also offers dry cleaning service and guest laundry facilities. Pets are not permitted.

Guestrooms. The five story hotel's 110 guestrooms are located in seven buildings that were built at different periods and in different styles. Many rooms include Chinese antique furnishings. Rooms offer complimentary high speed Internet access, cable and satellite television, desks and safes. Rooms also include coffee and tea makers, minibars and refrigerators. Irons and ironing boards are available on request.

Expert Tip. Shanghai's Yu Garden, originally constructed in the late 1500s, is a five acre setting of pavilions, ponds, rockeries, ancient trees, flowers, streams, courtyards and halls. The garden is divided into six sections, each with its own identity and design. The relatively small area encompasses a surprisingly varied amount of scenery.
