Location. The Sonesta Cairo Hotel and Casino is located in Cairo, Egypt, seven kilometres from the airport and 35 kilometres from the Giza Pyramids.

The Sonesta Cairo Hotel's Japanese sushi restaurant features leather seating and is open for lunch and dinner. The rustic style Italian restaurant, La Gondola, offers intimate candlelit dining and hosts live music every evening. From Cairo International Airport (CAI):
Distance to the Sonesta Cairo Hotel and Casino is seven kilometres, approximately 10 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from the airport. Taxis for central Cairo can be found in front of the Arrivals hall. The fare should be negotiated prior to departure, and should cost around 70 EGP 80 EGP.

Getting around. A complimentary shuttle bus runs from the hotel to and from downtown Cairo every day. The cheap and reliable metro system is the best way to explore Cairo. Minibuses and buses are a common form of transport, however, taxis are a good alternative. A river bus travels down the Nile from Cairo. Boats leave regularly for the University. Every other boat continues on to Rhoda, Manial, Masr al Qadima (old Cairo), and Giza. Driving is not advised for visitors, due to congestion in the city.
