Agon Opera

Location. Set on Berlin's famous Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard, home to numerous flagship stores, the modern Hotel Agon Opera is 1.5 kilometres from the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The nearest airport is Berlin Tegel (TXL), eight kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Located on the sixth floor and with views over the Kurfürstendamm, the hotel's breakfast room has dark wooden floors and furniture, a long balcony and a wall of windows which lets in natural light and offers views of Berlin's rooftops and the Kurfürstendamm below. The room can also be used for conferences during the day.

The lobby has a small bar which is open 24 hours and a small lounge area with green leather armchairs and booths. There is an Internet terminal in the lobby, and guests can use the Agon fitness centre in nearby Charlottenburg for free. Onsite parking is available for a surcharge.

Berlin's central park, the Tiergarten, is two kilometres from the hotel. From the Tiergarten, joggers can follow the Spree Canal which leads towards the Chancellery, Reichstag, and the Brandenburg Gate. The Volkspark Wilmersdorf is two kilometres south of the hotel and offers opportunities for jogging, walking, and tennis.

Guestrooms. The Hotel Agon Opera has 84 air conditioned guestrooms spread over six floors. Rooms are contemporary in design and brightly decorated. Wardrobes have mirrored sliding doors and contain safes, and further amenities include cable television and wireless internet (surcharge). Bathrooms have granite floors and counters, tiled walls, and handheld showers.

Expert Tip. The beautiful Schloss Charlottenburg, three kilometres from the hotel, is a window to a time when the kingdom of Prussia was a dominant force eager to show its wealth and status to visiting nobles. The rooms are stately and opulent and the meticulously manicured gardens are home to a mausoleum, a pavilion, and a porcelain museum.
