The Hotel Aprile Palazzo del Borgo is set in a beautifully restored 15th century building beautifully-restored 15th century building set within the centre of florence, 600 metres from the ponte vecchio. The Hotel comprises original features such as high vaulted ceilings, attractive frescoes and a secluded courtyard. The 34 individually-decorated guestrooms either feature frescoed ceilings, wrought iron bedposts and four-poster beds; some have balconies with views. Amenities include cable television, air conditioning, minibars and telephones. Rooms include complimentary wireless internet access.
Guests can take a break from sightseeing to enjoy drinks in the lush green surroundings of the secluded courtyard, offering impressive views across the city. The Hotel lobby is laid out with daily, complimentary newspapers and the lounge bar serves a wide selection of speciality coffees, beers and wines. Three nights a week, guests can listen to the complimentary lecture on the art and history of florence, given by a professor from the city's renowned university. The multilingual staff can also advise with sightseeing and local information. Located in the centre of florence, the Hotel is within walking distance of the city's wealth of art, culture and history: guests can visit the medici chapel, 300 metres away; the duomo with its elaborate façade, 500 metres away; the famous uffizzi gallery lies 600 metres away florence vespucci airport is four kilometres from the Hotel. A taxi to the Hotel costs approximately 20 eur. The airport is a short taxi ride from town, although it is also possible to take the half-hourly bus, which transports passengers to santa maria novella station, which is 100 metres from the Hotel. Buses service the city centre; tickets can be bought at tobacconists or vending machines. Tickets are sold on a time basis one-hour, two-hour or 24-hour tickets. Traffic is restricted in the city centre and parking is expensive, so the centre of florence is best explored on foot
