Location. The modern Starhotels Michelangelo is located in Florence, Italy, opposite Cascine Park and within a block of the River Arno. The hotel is one kilometre from city centre attractions like the Duomo cathedral and Uffizi art gallery. Santa Maria Novella is the nearest station and Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR) is 10 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Built in the 1970s, Starhotels Michelangelo is a purpose built hotel with mirrored windows. The lobby features red and yellow leather armchairs and prints of paintings from the Uffizi gallery. There is a complimentary shuttle service to the city centre, airport and main train station.

Il David restaurant serves Tuscan cuisine and international dishes. The wood floored restaurant looks out onto a display of Tuscan pottery. Bar degli Artisti serves alcoholic drinks and coffees, with live piano music. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served.

There are six meeting and conference rooms at the Starhotels Michelangelo, with capacity for up to 130 people. The hotel has a business centre with high speed Internet access (surcharge).

Distance to Starhotels Michelangelo is 10 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 15 EUR 16 EUR, and the journey time is 15 minutes. An airport bus departs for Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Terravision coaches travel to central Florence and Pisa Airport. Tickets cost 12 EUR, and the price includes a one day pass for Florence's city buses. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is located opposite Cascine Park in central Florence. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre, and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time, and are available for one, two or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station.
