The Hotel Raphael is situated just off the bustling piazza navona, 100 metres from the pantheon, and less than two kilometres from the spanish steps and trevi fountain. The 54 rooms overlook the small largo febo piazza or internal courtyards, and feature antique furniture, flemish tapestries and colour schemes dominated by ochre yellows and roman reds. All are equipped with satellite tv, internet connections (surcharge), safes, and minibars. Bathrooms include power showers, bathrobes, and bulgari toiletries.
The Hotel's ivy-covered façade gives way to a lobby boasting artworks by picasso and miró, as well as classical roman statuary. The three-tiered rooftop terrace offers views over st peter's basilica, the vittoriano monument and castel sant'angelo. The ground floor library has an extensive collection of books which can be taken to rooms or the rooftop terrace on request. The marble-floored picasso restaurant features antique tables and 19th-century silk-upholstered chairs, and serves breakfast and seasonal italian dishes. The Hotel serves snacks, teas, coffees and alcoholic drinks until late, accompanied by live piano music. Guests can watch satellite television while working out on the six aerobic machines in the fitness centre, or unwind in the small finnish sauna. The conference room features audio-visual facilities and can seat up to 40 delegates. The Hotel is located five metres from piazza navona, a lively square dotted with cafes, built atop the ruins of an ancient roman stadium. The square is home to bernini's spectacular 17th-century fountain, the 'fontana dei fiumi'. Rome fiumicino airport is 26 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 45 minutes.
