The Hotel Luxer is a modern five-floor Hotel, situated in the heart of amsterdam, 200 metres from the stock exchange and 500 metres from nieuwmarkt, which borders on the red light district. All 47 air-conditioned guestrooms have neutral décor with burgundy carpets and modern furniture; rooms feature direct-dial phones, cable television and internet connections. In addition rooms have ironing boards and en-suite bathrooms with hair dryers.
Guests start the day with a buffet breakfast in the breakfast lounge (surcharge), and the bar provides a place to meet other guests and enjoy a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The Hotel has a meeting room for small groups and there is internet access in public areas; multilingual staff are also on hand to provide guests with advice or assistance. Sightseers should visit the church of st nicholas and the tower of weeping women, both 200 metres from the Hotel; and those seeking more exotic sights will enjoy exploring the red light district just 500 metres away. The Hotel is approximately 20 kilometres (12.5 miles), or a twenty-minute drive from amsterdam schiphol airport. There is a railway station in the terminal's central hall, under schiphol plaza; direct trains run to amsterdam centraal station approximately every 15 minutes. Schiphol travel taxis are available from outside the arrivals hall. Public buses also run regularly into amsterdam.
