Location. The Grand Hotel Voncken is located in the centre of Valkenburg, Holland, within 100 metres of the Roman catacombs, 150 metres from Holland Casino and nine kilometres from Maastricht.

Expert Tip. Since Roman times, stone has been quarried at Valkenburg and today a vast network of caves and tunnels lies beneath the town. During various wars the caves were used as shelter and past inhabitants have decorated the walls with elaborate charcoal drawings. The caves are open to the public from Easter to the end of October and are used for the underground Christmas market.
