The Tiki gods that can be seen in and around the showroom are fashioned after the mythological Tiki gods of the Polynesian Islands- particularly Hawaii, Fiji, Tonga, and the Cook Islands.

The original Enchanted Tiki Room was the first attraction to function completely via the wonders of Audio-Animatronics® technology. Listen for Iago singing a whole new version of the smash hit "Friend Like Me" from Disney's "Aladdin."

They reverted it back to the original! A lot of fun, good music, excellent characters, let yourself have fun.

I was rather disgusted with the "new" and "updated" show. Can't we still enjoy the magic of the original dreams and ideas of Walt Disney? Can't we enjoy and learn from different cultures? Does everything have to reflect what's "in style" in America today? (i.e. hip-hop music. scariness. violence. etc.) I took my almost 3 year old son into the Tiki room thinking he would enjoy the singing birds. Instead. the majority of the show was the very annoying and abrasive Iago yelling and being insulting. There wasn't much singing. and not much focus on the the other birds. I was bothered by the appearance of the "goddess of chaos/destruction" (can't remember her exact name). Her evil-looking glowing eyes. condemning words and "blasting" of Iago were unpleasant and possibly scary for youngsters. I sincerely hope my son doesn't start having nightmares. I would not recommend this attraction anymore. and especially would not recommend it for young children. I hope Disney realizes that the changes were a poor decision and will return to the former show or something similar (something reflecting the tropical cultures).

When I was a little girl. I always would go to Disneyland every year. and I absolutely loved the Tiki Room! I found it so magical. cute. and pure with the wonderful songs including "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing." and "The Tiki Tiki Room." When I went to the Tiki Room years later as a teenager at Disney World. I couldn't believe how awful it was! It was completely destroyed with the fighting birds and screaming goddess. I was so happy at the beginning with the singing birds. and then all of a sudden. everything became dark and heavy with Iago. the screaming bird. on the scene. Disney is not supposed to be this way - it's supposed to be "the happiest place on earth." I'm not really sure how anyone can like this attraction. Every person I have talked to about this attraction has said that they were very upset about this at Disney World. It needs to go back to how Walt originally had it because that was when it was magical and enjoyable.

My whole family enjoyed the original Tikki Room. I don't find birds fighting with each other very amusing.
