The Breakwater Lodge is housed in a former 19th century prison and is positioned on the v&a waterfront with views of the harbour and table mountain. The 300 contemporary guestrooms are decorated in light colours with patterned fabrics and wood furnishings. Modern amenities include internet connections, televisions, telephones, hair dryers and coffee and tea making facilities.
The hotel offers two dining options: the treadmill restaurant and bar serves a range of international dishes from an a la carte menu with views of table mountain and the waterfront; the restaurant has both a formal dining area and a casual lounge area for pub lunches. Stonebreakers is open throughout the day offering buffet meals, snacks and sandwiches in an informal setting with a patio area and views of table mountain and signal hill. After breakfast guests can ask the hotel concierge for any sightseeing advice and tour assistance. Those on business can make use of the adjacent cape town conference facility with 36 meeting rooms, banqueting facilities and a range of audio-visual equipment. Guests arriving by car will find pay parking on site and further practical amenities include laundry services and a 24 hour front desk with safe-deposit box. For those wishing to explore the area, ratanga junction amusement park is 12 kilometres away, table mountain is 14 kilometres away, kirstenbosch and camps bay beach are 16 kilometres away. Cape town international airport is 25 from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.

The Easiest Way To Reach The Hotel From The Airport Is By Taxi, Costing Approximately 240 Zar. From The Airport, Take The N2 To Cape Town And Merge Onto The N1. Continue Over The Traffic Lights, Past The Holiday Inn On The Left And At The Next Set Of Traffic Lights Turn Right Into Western Boulevard. Take The Right Hand Lane And Turn Right At The Traffic Lights Into Portswood Road. Breakwater Road Is The Second Entrance On The Right.
