The Chic & Basic Born hotel is a century-old building with a contemporary interior situated in barcelona's el Borne district, within two kilometres of plaza de catalunya and the shops and lively cafés of las ramblas. The 31 air-conditioned guestrooms are located on three floors and feature Chic contemporary decor in white with led lighting to create a spectrum of colours and moods. All guestrooms open on to balconies and feature interactive plasma television with premium channels, cd players, internet connections and bathrooms with showers, slippers and toiletries.
Guests can relax with a newspaper, and then check out the hotel's arcade/games room. With minimalist contemporary decor in white and mood lighting, the white bar serves a variety of catalan cuisine accompanied by drinks, cocktails and dj sets. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can advise on local attractions, and direct those arriving by car to nearby parking facilities. Complimentary wireless internet and babysitting services are also on offer. The hotel is situated 100 metres from the gothic quarter, 200 metres from the picasso museum and a kilometre from the contemporary art museum macba. Barcelona airport is 15 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time to Chic & Basic Born of 30 minutes.
