Location. Room Mate Oscar hotel is located in the heart of the Chueca district of Madrid, Spain. The hotel is two blocks from the Gran Via, one kilometre from the Prado Museum, and 1.5 kilometres from the Royal Palace.
Hotel Features. The eight storey Room Mate Oscar hotel is the newest addition to this innovative hotel chain. Decor is bright and contemporary with an emphasis on bold colours and fun, avant garde design. A safe deposit box and complimentary newspapers are available at the 24 hour front desk, where multilingual staff can assist with travel and tourist arrangements.

A complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning at Room Mate Oscar. Mediterranean dishes feature throughout the day at the Oscar restaurant. There is also a contemporary lounge and poolside terrace bar serving snacks and light meals all day.

The hotel has a business centre, and conference and meeting rooms. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the hotel.

Racquetball and fitness classes are available at a nearby gym and golfers will find a golf course in the vicinity of the Room Mate Oscar.

Guestrooms. The 75 air conditioned guestrooms have light decor and modern design features. All have plasma televisions with satellite channels, direct dial phones, complimentary wireless Internet access, safes, and minibars. Hair dryers and complimentary toiletries are provided.

From Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD):
Distance to Room Mate Oscar is 12 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A regular underground metro service runs from the airport to central Madrid. The station is located in terminal 2 and is on line 8 (pink). The single fare is 1.75 EUR. Taxis into the hotel cost about 25 EUR, including an airport surcharge.

Getting around. The squares and narrow streets in central Madrid are best explored by foot. An extensive public bus and metro system offers a cheap and efficient way to get around the city. Single tickets can be bought from bus drivers or machines. A 10 trip Metrobus ticket, costing 6.40 EUR, is ideal for those making multiple journeys. Taxis can be hailed on the street and are reasonably priced.

Driving directions. From Madrid Barajas Airport:
Take the A2 Highway towards Avenida de America.
Turn right at Plaza del Doctor Maranon.
Turn left at Paseo de la Castellana.
Take Plaza de Colon and continue along Paseo de Recoletos and Calle de Alcala to Calle Gran Via.
Turn right on Calle del Clavel to reach Plaza de Vazquez de Mella and Room Mate Oscar.
