Named by conde nast traveler in 2005 as one of the world's best places to stay, the 27-acre Jw Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa on thailand's mai khao beach offers the pampering of exotic Spa treatments, the class of riding to the airport in mercedes sedans, and the adrenalin surges of outdoor adventure. Fifteen kilometers from Phuket (pronounced "poo-ket") on the andaman sea, thrill seekers can sun themselves on the beach and indulge in jungle and elephant trekking, golf, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, mountain biking, and island reef diving.
