Location. The Seven Sands Hotel Apartments are located in the Al Barsha district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 250 metres from the Mall of Emirates shopping centre. Dubai's Media and Internet Cities are within three kilometres of the hotel. Jumeirah Beach is eight kilometres away.
Hotel Features. This air conditioned hotel has seven storeys and a glass entrance flanked by potted palm trees. The cream tiled lobby, where guests can take coffee and read complimentary newspapers, has a multicoloured chandelier and red and gold sofas. An outdoor swimming pool can be found in the grounds, and inside, the hotel houses a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. A mahogany front desk with an express check in and check out service is open 24 hours a day and operated by multilingual staff who also provide concierge services. There is wireless Internet access in all public areas. A limo/town car service is available.
The Seven Sands Hotel Apartments provides a complimentary continental buffet breakfast in its Salaam Namaste restaurant, which serves an international buffet and Indian dishes for lunch and dinner.
Guestrooms. The 96 air conditioned apartments are decorated in a part modern, part Arabic style with metallic coloured bedding and robust mahogany furnishings. All contain separate sitting areas with sofas in rich, patterned fabrics, and kitchenettes fitted with microwaves and refrigerators. Further amenities include wireless Internet access, satellite television, CD players, and telephones with free local calls. Bathrooms come with bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Dubai's Gold and Diamond Park is two kilometres away, and a haven for jewellery fans. Established in May 2001, this commercial 'city of gold' has 154 manufacturing units and 52 retail outlets.

Getting there. The hotel provides a complimentary airport pick up service on request. Pre paid taxis can be found at Terminal 1's Arrivals' hall, and the fare to Seven Sands Hotel Apartments is approximately 40 AED. Limousines can be hired in the Arrivals' hall. Buses run to the city centre every 10 minutes from 6 a.m. 10 p.m. Bus stations are located opposite Terminals 1 and 2. Buses 44, 33, 15, 11, and 4 run to the city centre from Terminal 1, passing near to most major hotels. Bus number 2 runs to the city centre from Terminal 2, also passing near to most major hotels. Buses depart approximately every 20 30 minutes, and a single ticket costs 2 AED. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Public buses offer a reasonable service between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Buses travel from Bur Dubai station, on Al Ghubaiba road, and Deira bus station, near the gold souk. Buses have separate seated sections for women and men, with women typically sitting near the front. Travellers should pay the correct fare to the driver. In older parts of Dubai, small wooden motorboats cross over Dubai Creek between early morning and midnight. Air conditioned taxis are efficient, cheap and safe, and can be pre booked by telephone or hailed in the street.
