It originally opened in the 1980sand instantly became popular with discerning travelerslooking for an alternative to the larger park lane hotels.Now several years on the hotel has a new firmdale point ofview. Kit kemp has completely redesigned the hotel in hersignature fresh modern english style. Number sixteencomprises 42 individually designed bedrooms each containingall the facilities expected in a firmdale property includingdesk personal safe voice mail modem point wireless dvdplayers and mini bars. Bathrooms are beautifully designed insolid granite and oak. There are two ground floor drawingrooms. The first is light and bright and features a quirkymix of modern art and furniture. The second is more warm andcozy and incorporates a fully stocked honesty bar. But it isnumber sixteens conservatory featuring an interesting mix ofethnic art and private tree filled garden that really setsit apart. The tree filled garden runs the length of thehotel and serves drinks and light refreshments all day. Itis perfect for guests to relax in dine or entertain friendsor colleagues. Many of the bedrooms overlook the garden. Thegarden rooms have their own private courtyards and withdirect access to the garden.
