Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede 4 Star

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner Show evolved from a dream of Dolly Parton. It is one of the best dinner and shows in Branson, MO; Myrtle Beach, SC; Pigeon Forge, TN, and Orlando, Florida.

It is located near Disney World, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. There are 32 horses, numerous cast members and enough seating for 1,000 guests in the 35,000 sq.ft arena. Dolly Parton wanted "to recreate the family fun of my childhood, when we'd gather for a friendly competition and enjoy a more-than-filling meal".

A Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken, Hickory Smoked Barbecued Pork Loin, Dixie Stampede's Original Creamy Vegetable Soup, Delicious Homemade Biscuit, Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob, Herb-based Potato, Dixie's very own Specialty Dessert, Unlimited Pepsi, tea or coffee.

Additional Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Information

In 1988, Dolly opened the first Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Her brand of music, food, action and entertainment was so successful it enabled Dixie Stampede to expand into the other popular family tourist destinations of Branson, Missouri and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. "Our mission at Dixie Stampede is to greatly exceed our guest expectations by doing the unexpected," Dolly said. "Orlando is the home of world-class entertainment, and I think as my Dixie Stampede show changes from season to season each new spectacular act will astound visitors to Orlando and residents alike."

Dolly Parton's cooks up large portions of good food with a funny and enjoyable family western show. The North South battles are entertaining and certainly different. the service is good. considering the large number of people. all round excellent value.

I recently attended Medieval Times and another Orlando Dinner show. I have to say... the Times definitely comes in at #3 out of 2. The cool things were... the carpet. the seating. and the nets that automatically come from the roof to protect the audience. I think those nets probably should have been black curtains so the audience did not have to see such a weak performance. The "tournament" was portrayed with such a lack of enthusiasm. that the knights must really hate their jobs... The audience interaction was minimal if any. and I felt bad for the animals which had the same expressions on their faces as the knights did. The principal performers might as well have been reading their scripts for the first time. There was one performer with talent. And I believe he was the "Cardinal" or something of the sort. The food was ok. but I wouldn't eat it again... I went on comp tickets. but after all the xxxxxx for drinks. souvenirs and such. the night still cost me over $80.00 for two people... explain that!!

I have been to Medieval Times in Vegas. Arabian Knoghts in Florida. and now the Dixie Stampede in Myrtle Beach (please note this review is for the myrtle beach show. but it does match our own expereince at the Orlando show. UnderCoverTourist). I will have to say that out of the three. The Dixie Stampede was by far the best! The pre show was hilarious and fun for all family members. The actual Stampede show was fantastic.

The animals were healthy. spirited. and eager to perform. You could watch the horses carefully listen for and feel their rider's quiet cues. The animal performances were well rehearsed and technical. They were very entertaining. My six year old daughter watched in amazement the entire time! She was captivated. (We had to remind her to eat while she watched.)

I greatly enjoyed the audience participation. For many of the contests they brought audience members down into the arena to compete for their side. It was wonderful.

The food was great. as well. There was so much to eat for dinner we had to bring half of it home! (I know what we are having for lunch today!)

All around. for the prices. amount of food. fantastic entertainment... It was awesome! We will return to the Stampede to see their Christmas show. We are very excited about seeing it again.

Hi. I read the review on Dolly's Dixie Stampede and felt compelled to write. I was there with a party of 4 adults in November 2003 and I was appalled at the lack of organisation. When the time came for us to enter the main part of the evening event. we duly followed the guides to find that no seats or table places had been prepared for us. There must have been at least 50 people without seating etc. which was very off-putting as we had all booked our seats in advance. therefore would have expected arrangements to be in place for our arrival.

The show had started and we were moved from various parts of the arena until they decided what to do with us. We eventually were seated after 25 minutes. The young people who were assisting us did there best but they didn't have a clue what to do with us. Eventually we asked to speak to a supervisor who was very offhand and did speak to us directly. It was a case of "move them" to that side of the arena - not a very customer friendly approach. The food service/delivery was also very poor and if you did request more coffee as many people did not want the soft drinks etc. the wait to get it made you just want to leave and go elsewhere. The food arrived in stages and the delay in getting all the items on our plates meant that the food was cold.

The show was good particularly the Australian who sang and entertained us but I would not return to the event and would not recommend it to anyone.

Sorry to moan but it was such a disappointment!
