The Meadow Garden Museum, captures the spirit and past of its most famous resident, George Walton.
The furnishings are from the periods in which the house was used. In 1792 George Walton, his wife, Dorothy, and their two sons, Thomas and George Jr., moved to a house now known as Meadow Garden. The name of the house comes from the fact that Walton frequently referred to himself as, "George Walton of Meadow Garden." It was located on an open meadow outside of town and the land was originally 100 acres but Walton expanded it to 121 acres.
