Savannah's City Plan details the unique environment in which Savannah was created. Savannah's Historic Landmark District is a 2.2 square mile area. It is the old city of Savannah as it developed according to James Edward Oglethope's plan from 1733 to 1856 when all of the publicly owned land was used up. The Victorian Era exhibit illustrates the architectural styles of the time period as created by prominent architects for Savannah. Through the display of photographs and artifacts, it seeks to evoke an understanding of the nineteenth century and to impart knowledge of current efforts to rehabilitate an irreplaceable heritage. Architectural Heritage shows the original architectural styles in the history of Western Civilization, and places them in context with Savannah's architectural treasures.
