Florence tourist information

If you are visiting Florence you should not miss some of the best attractions in nearby Cincinnati (15 miles North); including Carew Tower, Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Downtown Cincinnati/Over-the-Rhine, Newport Aquarium, and Paramount's Kings Island - Cincinnati.

Florence is a city in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 23,551 at the 2000 census.

Florence is the closest significant town to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. NFL star Shaun Alexander was born in Florence, and graduated from Boone County High School in that city. He still returns, and helps the community.

Florence is well known in surrounding cities for a water tower visible from I-75 that reads "Florence Y'all". Originally the tower advertised the up-and-coming Florence Mall, but because the mall was not built yet, the city was forced to change it. Rather than repaint the entire tower, they simply painted over one letter. The intent was to change it back when the mall was built, but the tower quickly gained recognition for its proclamation, so the city decided to leave it as it was.
