Hiltonlocation. the historic Seelbach Hilton Louisville is located downtown in the arts and culture community of Louisville, ky. It is five blocks from the ohio river waterfront park and river walk, two miles from the Louisville slugger museum and factory and seven miles from the kentucky derby at churchill downs.
hotel features. the beaux-arts baroque architecture, marble lobby and rathskeller room are original to the 1905 hotel. The rathskeller room is the only surviving rookwood pottery room in the world. Three restaurants call the Seelbach Hilton home, including the oakroom, which is the first and only aaa five diamond restaurant in kentucky. The Seelbach Hilton has a storied history, including tales of 1920s gangsters and a ghost. Ghost tours can be arranged upon check-in. Guests receive complimentary airport transportation to the hotel. The hotel also features high-speed wired and wireless internet access for a fee, a 24-hour business center and 32, 000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel offers babysitting services.

guestrooms. guestrooms are furnished in period antique reproductions. Stiffel lamps perch on chippendale accent pieces and colonial mahogany armoires. Rice-carved, four-poster beds hold the Hilton serenity bed, which is swathed in 250-thread count sheets, down comforters and white, pale goldenrod and deep royal blue custom duvets. Marble-accented bathrooms include crabtree and evelyn products. High-speed wired and wireless internet access is available for a fee.

expert tip. the toonerville ii trolley, a reproduction streetcar featuring mahogany seats, woodwork and a solid brass bell, stops in front of the Seelbach Hilton. The trolley offers weekday and saturday transportation to popular attractions, such as the ohio river waterfront park and river walk, Louisville ballet and Louisville slugger museum and factory.
