The Renaissance Pere Marquette is just two blocks from the french quarter and puts travelers close to all that comprises the heart of downtown new orleans. They are up to six blocks from the bistros and boisterous bars of bourbon street, the gambling of harrah's casino, the family-friendly environment of the aquarium of the americas and the street performers, tarot card readers, cafes and shops of jackson square. Many visitors enjoy the nearby st. Charles streetcar, whose route begins at canal street and winds through the historic garden district replete with stately homes, past riverbend with its victorian shops and restaurants, and then near the audubon zoo and loyola and tulane universities.

The hotel's 18 story building is historic and its outdoor pool on the third-floor abuts the wall of a 19th-century brick church. Soft couches and chairs beneath mirrors only enhance the historical ambience.

In a city brimming with world-renowned restaurants, the hotel's rene bistrot remains one of its most celebrated french eateries, featuring such specialties as sautéed skate and salade nicoise.

Meanwhile, guestrooms, with contemporary designs and a residential feel, come complete with minibars, bathrobes, safes, data ports, coffeemakers, movies and photographs of new orleans landmarks with addresses corresponding to room numbers.

With nearly 10, 000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel can accommodate gatherings for up to 400 people. Guests can also work out in the hotel's fitness facility and meet deadlines the business center.
