hotel features. built with all the pomp, glory and opulence of a french chateau, the Plaza is exquisitely decorated, with remarkable elegance in each meticulous detail. The 18-story white brick and marble building was designed in the french renaissance style in 1907, and is listed on the national historic landmarks program. The palm court, known for its legendary sunday brunch and afternoon tea, provides guests with a lavish, old-world garden setting complete with piano and violin music. The oak room's dark oak paneling, 25-foot ceilings and period murals create the ambience of a private club where steaks, prime ribs, seafood and fowl are savored. The adjoining oak bar with everett shinn murals and views of central park from oversized windows is a famous spot for cocktails. The 1 cps brasserie provides a welcome change of pace with pasta, roast beef, lobster, pork, venison, paella, swordfish and calf's liver. The Plaza's world-class retail collection boasts chic boutiques and cafés. Health and wellness facilities include a caudalie spa, fitness center by radu and the warren tricomi salon.
