Historic Latta Plantation 4 Star

Historic Latta Plantation

In 1975, Latta Place, Inc., deeded the house and land to Mecklenburg County. The county also purchased the additional acreage that makes up Latta Plantation Park. Latta Place does still run the living history museum.

At the end of a country road, you see the Lattas' white two-story frame house. It is elegantly simple, yet grand. Outstanding exterior and interior trim give the house a special significance. Inside you find fine furniture and even family silver and china. Enjoy wandering the grounds. See the barnyard animals. Visit the outbuildings, replica log house, and garden. Participate in a tour led by a costumed docent and learn interesting, little-known facts about the Early Republic.
