Deep Ellum
Deep Ellum is an entertainment and arts district east of downtown dallas. In the 1920s the Deep Ellum area had become a retail and entertainment center for Dallas residents.
Entertainment was an important part of the business of Deep Ellum, which became a mecca for jazz and blues artists. By 1991 Deep Ellum had become a popular nightspot for young urban dwellers in addition, a plethora of fashion forward shops were selling a variety of merchandise, including clothing, antiques, crafts, and art works, providing a diverse culture within the meighborhood. Today has defined the "Urban Village" concept for Dallas.
