The "Zoo and Improved" Dallas Zoo features many exotic and endangered species in natural habitats. The Zoo has undergone substantial changes in the past few years, adding new exhibits such as the Kimberly-Clark Chimpanzee Forest, the ExxonMobil Endangered Tiger Habitat, a new entry off I-35E and more.

Check out all there is to see in ZooNorth and the Wilds of Africa, Wilds of Africa - Named the best African zoo exhibit in the nation by "The Zoobook: A Guide to America's Best," the Dallas Zoo's "Wilds of Africa" is a 25-acre tract featuring the six major African habitats. Within the exhibit, bush, desert, forest, woodland, river and mountain environments allow a variety of birds and mammals to dwell in surroundings that accurately mimic their native habitats. Zoo North - Don't miss this new exhibit, featuring all Texas invertebrates.

At Bug U!, the visitor can study the lives of social insects, including a termite colony, leaf-cutter ants, cockroaches and a honeybee colony in an observation hive. Bug U! is home to diving beetles, praying mantises, walking sticks, millipedes and centipedes as well as tarantulas, vinegaroons, brown recluse spiders, black widows and much more. Bug U! is located in the stone building across from Cat Green.
