Gonzales convention center, the Hotel is two blocks from the eclectic boutiques of la villita and the ameson river theater. The legendary alamo is five blocks away.

This completely non-smoking Hotel features a four-story atrium lobby accented in mediterranean-style décor. The atrium overlooks the on-site cork bar, which features live entertainment on friday and saturday evenings on the riverwalk's bank. Hotel Contessa offers over 10, 000-square-feet of meeting and banquet space, including a 2, 300-square-foot ballroom, intimate executive rooms and three outdoor terraces overlooking the riverwalk. A rooftop view is featured from the Hotel's heated outdoor pool, spa tub and glass-enclosed patio. The rooftop bar serves cocktails at poolside. A 24-hour cardiovascular fitness center with free weights also offers panoramic views of the city's skyline.

Bedding areas with pillowtop mattresses are separate from parlors and living areas complete with sofa beds. Two in-room, flat-screen televisions include premium cable channels. Wireless internet access is also available for a fee. Weekday newspaper delivery is complimentary upon request. Marble bathrooms feature curved shower rods and gilchrist & soames toiletries. In-room massages are available by appointment.

expert tip. opened in january 2007, the spa at the Hotel Contessa is a 1, 700-square-foot aveda spa facility located near the Hotel's rooftop bar and pool. Treatments include an enzyme peel followed by a massage, hot stone therapy and fango body wraps all with sweeping views of the city's skyline.
