The creation of Aerosmith was fated when Steven Tyler's band Chain Reaction ended up playing the same gig as Joe Perry's band Jam Band. This blues-based rock and roll band broke into the mainstream with their 1975 album, Toys in the Attic, and their 1976 album, Rocks, creating a cult following dubbed "Blue Army". The "Bad Boys from Boston" pulled off a remarkable comeback in the late 1980s, jumped back up to the top of the charts, solidified themselves as one of the best-selling bands in hard rock history and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
