One of the first pop and rock artists to utilize the introduction of MTV to shoot to stardom, Billy Idol is known for his punk attitude mixed with pop hooks and dance beats. After a very brief stint as the guitarist for punk rock band Chelsea, Idol rose to fame in 1970s London as the lead singer of the punk group Generation X. Following the success of the band, he moved onto a solo career that helped make him a lead artist in the “Second British Invasion” with hit singles like “Dancing with Myself," "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell" and "Eyes Without a Face." Idol took a break from the spotlight throughout most of the 90s after a near-fatal motorcycle accident, but the punk icon is back and it’s a Nice Day To…see Billy Idol play live.
