A Day in Photos: Part 2 of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

We're picking up where we left off in our previous post on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is Tad and Lily's very favorite Disney event of the year, and so we wanted to share our favorite images from the last visit along with tips. OK, maybe it's my favorite Disney event too!

Rainbow over Prince Eric's Castle in the new Fantasyland area.

After stuffing ourselves silly with the Nutella Waffle Sandwich with Fresh Fruit at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, we felt like a walk was in order! So we headed over to Fantasyland to check out the progress of Enchanted Forest. We also wanted to check out the lines at the new Storybook Circus trick-or-treat location since it's new this year.

A little Minnie gets caught up in Ariel and Prince Eric's embrace.

A Roman warrior (and others) wait for the Walt Disney World train (or candy).

As we mentioned in our recent post devoted to all things Fantasyland, there is a new stop for the railroad in Storybook Circus. Take it the next time you're in Fantasyland. Your feet with thank you. It's also the location of the new trick-or-treat station.

Tomorrowland Speedway

One of Lily's favorite things to do is to help Leap steer the car while he pushes the gas pedal (she is still quite a few inches shy of the 54" height requirement for drivers). Tomorrowland Speedway is a perennial favorite among the wee ones, but it is a slow-loading ride, which usually means long lines. Luckily, there wasn't much of a wait during the party!

Moon (almost) over Space Mountain.

There was also no wait for Space Mountain, almost unheard of any other time of day besides opening.

Cinderella Castle

One of the best views of the castle can be had from the site of the Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant. If you really want to splurge on your next trip, make reservations for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party, a sumptuous dessert buffet that starts an hour before the Wishes® Nighttime Spectacular.

A Halloween window display along Main Street U.S.A.

Lily asked me if the cob webs were made of cotton candy. I suggested we go try them and see. Just kidding!

More of the scene along Main Street.

On nights of the party, the shops are much less busy than just about any other time. While we don't suggest you buy a ticket just for the shopping, we know some of you shopaholics just can't help yourselves (I'm lumping myself in this category). I talked to a cast member inside the Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. who said she loves it when it's not so crowded because she gets to spend more time helping and talking to customers.

Donald gets into the Halloween spirit inside the Emporium.

If you convince the rest of your party to stake out a spot for the parade along Main Street U.S.A., you could potentially sneak into a shop or two and be back out before the Headless Horseman takes his ride!

Spooky!

Daisy makes her way down Main Street.

As we've said before, try to get to your parade-watching location early, 30 minutes if you can. “Boo-To-You” runs twice each night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, once at 8:15 p.m. and then again at 10:30 p.m. The first parade is very popular, and because there are still a fair number of people entering the park, it can get quite crowded around Main Street U.S.A.

Captain Jack!

Hook!

If you'll be watching the second parade, spend your time during the first parade riding more rides or visiting more of the trick-or-treat trails! If you're already around Main Street U.S.A. and haven't said hello to Mickey and Minnie, this is a good time to do so as you'll find shorter wait times during the parades. This is somewhat true for the princesses -- while their wait times also go down during the parades -- they can still be quite long!

Happy HalloWishes!

No matter which parade you see, make sure you take in the Happy HalloWishes fireworks show over Magic Kingdom.

We hope you've enjoyed the Frog Family's look at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Keep hopping, Mommy Frog!
