Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting news surrounding Disney and the Orlando theme parks.
This week’s highlights:
-
After dropping hints over the last couple of months, SeaWorld has finally announced that Aquatica is getting a new drop slide, Ihu’s Breakway Falls, that will be the tallest and steepest ride of its kind in Orlando when it debuts next year. Tad is already super excited as he has yet to meet a thrill ride he doesn't like, especially when it has words like tallest and steepest attached to it. Who’s ready to take the plunge?
-
A whole slew of celebs will be featured in the 2013 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, including Demi Lovato (with the wonderfully Christmasy Minnie), Nick Cannon and the cast of "Teen Beach Movie," who were on hand at Disneyland to film part of the taping.
- LEGOLAND Florida will be getting into the spirit soon, bringing a life-size Santa LEGO model to the park that would make the perfect backdrop for your Christmas card photos.
- While the parks are all decked out in their Christmas decor, those of you looking for signs of Thanksgiving will find it among the pumpkins, scarecrows and gourds inside Living with the Land and the Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot.
- Speaking of Thanksgiving, we've got the full list of where to find the traditional meal (or a turkey leg) at the Orlando theme parks on Turkey Day.
-
Grumpy Cat met up with Grumpy Dwarf at Disneyland. The video was too cute for words!
-
For a limited time, your little princesses can get “Frozen” -- as Elsa or her sister Anna -- at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques.
-
Yet another reason to visit Disney World. George Clooney has been spotted around Central Florida as part of his work on the film “Tomorrowland” that will feature the Carousel of Progress.
- After months of rehabilitation, SeaWorld Orlando returned a bottlenose dolphin to the wild that was found stranded earlier this year.
That’s all for this week. Have a great weekend!
