Guardians Team Overview
The Cleveland Guardians are a professional baseball team competing in the American League Central Division of Major League Baseball. Joining the American League in 1901, the franchise has remained in Cleveland, OH for all of its nearly 125-year history. The team held many names in its early years before becoming the Cleveland Indians in 1915, a title they would hold for nearly 100 years. They assumed the name Guardians in 2022. Repping navy blue, red and white, the team plays their home games at Progressive Field.
The Guardians generally have had great success over the years, winning two World Series and also 11 division titles (most recently in 2022). Their last World Series appearance was in 2016. For the 2023 season, the team went 76-86. Heading into the 2024 season, the team is under new leadership with Guardians manager Stephen Vogt.
