Team Overview
One of the newer additions to Major League Baseball, the Colorado Rockies joined the league in 1993 as an expansion team. They compete in the West Division of the National League. Based in Denver, CO, they play their home games at Coors Field, which features incredible views of the Rocky Mountains, the team's namesake. The Rockies are one of the only MLB teams with purple as their main color, inspired by the line "for purple mountains majesty" in the "America the Beautiful" song. Their mascot is a purple triceratops named Dinger.
Throughout its short 30-year history, the franchise continues to grow as it looks to improve in the postseason. The Rockies won one National League pennant in 2007, the same year the team advanced to the World Series. They've made five total Wild Card postseason appearances. In 2023, their record was 59-103, so they now look to improve their record and build up their young team. The current Rockies manager is Bud Black.
