Overview of the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets play within the Metropolitan Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference. Founded in 2000 as an expansion team, the team plays home games at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH. Sporting vibrant blue, red and white, the Blue Jackets are led by head coach Pascal Vincent. Some of the team's top players include Johnny Gaudreau, Boone Jenner and Zach Werenski. Rick Nash, a former forward and left winger for the Blue Jackets from 2002 to 2012, holds numerous records. He is responsible for securing the most goals, assists and points in the franchise's history.
Throughout its 23-year history, the team has made it to the playoffs six times — reaching the conference semi-finals in 2019. Fun fact: A cannon is fired each time the Jackets score a goal during a game!
