Overview of the Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are a professional basketball team playing in the Southwest division of the NBA's Western Conference. Nicknamed the "Mavs", the team has resided in Dallas, TX since 1980. They play their home games at American Airlines Center, also home to the Dallas Stars of the NHL. Throughout their franchise history, they've won four division titles, two conference championships and one NBA Championship (in 2011).
During the 2022-23 season, the Mavericks went 38-44 and did not qualify for the playoffs. However, head coach Jason Kidd is relying on his top players for a potentially strong finish to the 2023-24 season. Some of the Mavericks' best players include guard Kyrie Irving, guard Luka Doncic, forward Josh Green and center Dereck Lively II — with mid-season additions, forward P.J. Washington and center Daniel Gafford.
