Overview of Disney World's Disability Access Service (DAS)

Walt Disney World’s approach to assisting guests with disabilities ensures that every guest can enjoy a day at the parks. For families with one or more members needing accommodations, DAS at Disney World — Disability Access Service — can help make a trip comfortable and memorable for everyone. This comprehensive program is about more than just getting expedited access in lines; it is designed to ensure that every guest and family have a toadally amazing Disney experience. Today, we're covering the ins and outs of DAS at Disney World, including the new changes effective May 20, 2024.

Here are the NEW DAS changes in effect at Walt Disney World:

  • Walt Disney World has implemented an updated registration process for the Disability Access Service (DAS). The initial registration process must be completed through a live video chat — in-person registration is no longer available at Guest Relations in the theme parks.
  • Up to 30 days before your visit, you must talk with a cast member virtually to determine your eligibility. You do not need to provide documentation. You can also register the same day of your visit (details below).
  • If eligible for DAS, the guest with a disability and a parent/guardian will need to participate in the registration process. This includes getting a photo taken of the guest registering for DAS.
  • You can have up to four people in your travel party, including the person registered for DAS (exceptions can be made for immediate family members).
  • DAS attraction return time selections can be made in the My Disney Experience app (or at Guest Relations) once in the parks, but not in advance.
  • DAS is valid for the length of your ticket or up to 120 days (whichever comes first) — after that, you will need to re-register.

What Is DAS?

Disney World's Disability Access Service (DAS) provides assistance for guests and families with disabilities to navigate more easily and enjoy the parks. It is intended to help guests who have difficulty waiting in line queues. The Walt Disney World website states, "DAS is intended to accommodate only those guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time."

Instead of physically waiting in a queue, you receive a return time equal to the current standby wait time. You can spend the time anywhere in the park and then return to enjoy the ride. Then you'll enter through the Lightning Lane entrance for reduced wait time in a physical queue. (Looking for information on using Disability Access Service on the West Coast? As a heads up, you may hear some people refer to it as a disability pass or DAS card. The “pass” or “card” portion of the name is leftover lingo from a time when guests were provided with a paper or plastic card to use in the program. Today, DAS is fully digital and integrated into your ticket or MagicBand, so no additional card or media is needed, and you can receive DAS return times through the My Disney Experience app.

Who Qualifies for Assistance from DAS?

DAS is determined and approved on a case-by-case basis during a video registration call with a cast member. It's intended for guests with non-apparent disabilities that could impact their park experience such as autism or similar. DAS covers both the impacted guest and those in their group (up to four people, including the DAS holder — exceptions can be made for immediate family members).

Wheelchair users can usually be accommodated at the point of entry at most rides, so if your only concern is about lines and boarding with a scooter or wheelchair, you may not need DAS. DAS is designed to support guests who have needs beyond using a wheelchair or limited mobility. If you’re worried about getting through the line queue or accessing a ride with a scooter, you can simply head to your chosen attraction. Cast members are well-trained and will be able to help you navigate.

How Do I Get DAS?

This is where most of the new changes come into play. As of May 20, 2024, all guests will need to pre-register for DAS via live video chat up to 30 days before a park visit. The live video chat is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In-person registration is no longer available, meaning that the cast members will not be able to complete the registration process in the parks. For those requesting same-day registration at any of the Disney World parks, cast members are there to assist but will redirect guests to either a QR Code or a device with a link to conduct the live video chat. It's super hopful to get the DAS registration out of the way in advance, this way you won't be missing out on precious park time!

Guests will need to have valid theme park tickets and a My Disney Experience account before initiating the video call. Make sure everyone in your party is linked in My Disney Experience so everyone can be included in DAS plans. If you need to modify your party between your initial call and your park visit, pop back into the video chat for help. This may change, but on day one of these new DAS changes, no modifications were being made in the parks.

The individual requesting DAS must be present during the video chat, even if it's a parent or guardian registering on their child's behalf. This includes getting a photo taken of the guest registering for DAS. The video call is screen reader-friendly and available with text chat for those with visual or hearing impairments.

Note that DAS is still determined on a case-by-case basis. Documentation is not required. Once registered, DAS is valid for the length of your ticket or up to 120 days, whichever comes first. After that window, you will need to re-register.

Even though guests cannot initially register in person at the parks (only via the live video chat), you can still receive return times at Guest Relations or Guest Experience Team kiosks throughout the parks. Here's where you can find Guest Relations at each park:

  • Magic Kingdom: A Guest Services location is outside of the park turnstiles on the right-hand side. Already inside Magic Kingdom? Head under the railroad tracks, then veer to the left. Guest Services is in City Hall, the first building you’ll see.
  • EPCOT: Before entering the park, head to the far right. Guest Services is located outside of the gates near the monorail entrance. If you are already inside EPCOT, there are Guest Relations locations near Spaceship Earth and near the International Gateway entrance.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: There are two options, one inside and one outside of the park; both are near the park entrance on the left-hand side.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Once inside the park, head to the left; Guest Services is in the first building you’ll see as you enter the park.

Frog Family Tip: You can save time by locating a Guest Experience Team found in several locations around each park. You'll recognize these stations by looking out for the big blue umbrellas with the words "Guest Experience Team" and the park's icon printed on them. These cast members will be dressed in a royal blue shirt and black shorts or pants. The Guest Experience Team can help you book, adjust or cancel a return time if you don't have a smartphone to make return times on the app. In addition, the Guest Experience Team can help answer questions about attraction wait times, showtimes, directions and general questions about the Disney World parks.

What Documentation Is Needed for DAS?

You do not need to have a doctor’s note or documentation about you or the individual's disabilities. You do need to be able to describe the accommodations needed to fully enjoy the park. The more details you provide about your needs, the better cast members are able to provide accommodations to assist you. This is a custom program that will be tailored to meet your specific situation. Your stated needs can range from the need for a quiet area to wait in lieu of standing in line, a pass to bring a stroller right to the loading area of a ride or other specific needs your family may have.

How Do I Use DAS at Disney World?

A helpful feature allows registered DAS guests and their party members to make return time selections right in the My Disney Experience app. Once tapped into the park, a DAS button will appear in the app. You can access it by clicking on the bottom three lines and scrolling down the menu. Anyone in the party can make the selections for everyone, but the guest with DAS must be present when the return time is redeemed and tap into the ride queue first before anyone else in the travel party. Guests can still visit the attraction, Guest Relations or a Guest Experience Team umbrella to receive return times.

DAS at Disney World - App View

Return times are day-of selections and are available once you are tapped into the park. When chosen, they reflect the current standby wait. If Peter Pan's Flight is a 50-minute wait, your return time for that attraction would be in 50 minutes. Once the return time starts, it can be used at any time until park close. You can only hold one return time at a time. After using a return time, there's a 10-minute wait time until you can make your next return time selection.

Return times are not able to be booked during Early Theme Park Entry. If park hopping, selections will become available once you tap into that park. If a posted wait time is 15 minutes or less, guests using DAS and their party are typically given immediate access to the Lightning Lane entrance.

Using the My Disney Experience app to make selections allows for less walking to attractions or Guest Relations to get return times. We are so glad the service is now integrated into the app so all of the planning is in one place!

What Disney World Attractions Accept DAS?

Every attraction in Disney World can accommodate the needs of guests with disabilities; you can hop on over to our full list of Disability Access for Disney World Attractions to get the scoop on each individual ride. Note that the person holding DAS must meet the height requirements of the ride.

How Does DAS Work with Disney Genie?

You do not need to purchase Genie+ or individual selections to utilize DAS. Any ride with a standby wait time is eligible for DAS return times. For attractions using virtual queues (currently Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tron Lightcycle / Run — Tiana's Bayou Adventure will operate with a virtual queue beginning June 28, 2024), all members must have joined the virtual queue first. Once your boarding group is called, cast members will direct you on using DAS.

All attractions still offer return times with DAS. Unlike Disney Genie+, which currently only allows a ride to be selected once per day, there is no limit to DAS return times for the same attraction (except for attractions that use a virtual queue — you may only join the virtual queue once a day for a particular ride).

You can also combine DAS and Genie+ or individual Lighting Lane selections to truly maximize your day! If you purchase Genie+, you can make Genie+ selections along with your DAS return times. You can also purchase individual Lightning Lanes and select an arrival window. All of these options utilize the Lightning Lane entrances. While DAS return times require you to wait the full standby time, Genie+ selections can be made for the next available time window and can be used right away. Purchasing Genie+ is not necessary when utilizing DAS, but there may be days when using both is helpful, such as peak holiday times.

Guest Relations can provide you with an oversized red sticker for your stroller that allows you to bring a stroller directly to the loading area. Attractions such as Kilimanjaro Safaris require strollers to be parked at specific points in the line. If you have this pass, your child can stay in the stroller until the loading area is reached. There are a few exceptions to the policy, as sometimes guests with a DAS stroller tag may not be able to enter areas that the stroller can’t safely navigate.

Pre-Registering for DAS

Am I eligible for DAS?

DAS is assigned on a case-by-case basis. You can learn more during the pre-registration live virtual chat.

What if I’m afraid that Disney World's DAS will not accommodate my needs?

Disney works with guests individually in order to accommodate their specific requests and provides assistance for a variety of needs and disabilities. Oftentimes, accommodations will be made at individual attractions. If you have any concerns, tell a cast member and they will find a way to work with you!

Does every member of my party need to be present when DAS is obtained?

As of May 20, 2024, in-person registration is no longer available. All guests must register via live video chat. The DAS user and a parent/guardian must both participate in the registration process.

What else do I need to have prepared for the call?

No documentation is necessary when registering for DAS. You'll want your DAS party linked in the My Family and Friends section of My Disney Experience.

What if I need to modify my party?

If you find that you need to modify your party between your initial call and your park visit, pop back into the virtual chat for help. This may change, but on day one of these new DAS changes, no modifications were being made in the parks.

What if I am an international guest?

International guests can register in advance as soon as they can access the U.S. Walt Disney World website. Registration is available up to 30 days before your visit and even on the day of your park visit.

Is the call only available in English?

At this time, yes. However, there is a chat feature before joining the virtual meeting where guests can indicate if they don’t speak English. Reasonable effort will be made to accommodate those guests.

How many guests in one party can be covered under Disney World DAS?

The maximum is four guests per DAS. This includes the person registered for DAS. Exceptions can be made for immediate family members.

Once I have registered and received DAS at Disney World, what’s next?

Time to have fun! You can start booking return times on the app once you are in the park. Go to that attraction during the allotted time and enjoy! Return times are valid until redeemed prior to park closing. Once you’ve experienced an attraction, you can receive another return time ten minutes after the initial return time.

Using DAS in the Parks

Where do I receive more return times for attractions?

You can book return times on the My Disney Experience app or in person at the attraction or Guest Relations. You can choose another return time for the same attraction or a different one 10 minutes after using the initial return time. Another member of your party can obtain a return time, but the guest with DAS must enter the attraction first before the other party members.

Do the guests with DAS have to board the attraction with the rest of the party?

Yes, the guest with the DAS must enter the attraction. The DAS user does not need to be present when obtaining a return time, though.

Do I have to get a new DAS at the start of each day?

No. As of May 20, 2024, DAS is valid for the length of your ticket or 120 days, whichever is shorter.

How many reservations can I have?

You can only have one active return time at once. The return time will appear as part of your plans in the My Disney Experience app.

Can I cancel a reservation? For example, I grab a reservation for Haunted Mansion but then decide I want to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at that time.

Yes! Return times can now be modified or canceled in the My Disney Experience app. Anyone in the party may modify the reservation, but the guest with DAS must enter the attraction.

Can I use DAS for fireworks and parades?

There are no specific reserved areas for guests using DAS. Guests using DAS with concerns should visit Guest Relations to see what accommodations can be made for fireworks/parade viewing. There are special viewing areas on parade routes and some shows for guests with disabilities. However, those cannot be reserved and are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do I have to pay to use DAS on individual attraction selections (including individual Lightning Lane selections)?

DAS does not require any additional purchase with the Disney Genie+ system. Any attraction with a standby queue can issue DAS return times.

What about rides with virtual queues?

Rides with virtual queues — such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Tron Lightcycle / Run and Tiana's Bayou Adventure (opening June 28, 2024) require that all members of your party join the virtual queue first. Once your boarding group is called, talk with cast members at the entrance about using DAS.

What happens if I didn't register in advance?

This may change, but on day one of these new DAS changes, Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom supplied a QR code that will connect guests to the virtual chat. Guests were then welcome to use the quiet lobby next door at the Chamber of Commerce building to connect to the call.

What if I need help with my return times while I'm in the park?

You can still make or change return times at Guest Relations and at the Guest Experience Team blue umbrellas.

How do I renew DAS?

You'll follow the same process when you're ready to renew — just share that you'd like to renew in the virtual chat.

Will I get a reminder to renew when DAS expires?

There isn’t a reminder sent to renew — so be sure to mark your calendar!

Coming from the uk you can use a free vpn like tunnelbear to connect to the my Disney experience app , this will enable you to speak to the cm like everybody else . This is an available for all guests from the uk and is very simple to do .

If you have a disability, any disability you should never be made to feel bad about needing accommodations to experience anything that persons with out a disability take for granted. If that is a handicap parking place a pass to sit down in a cool place while you wait for you ride time or a ramp to enter a building it is ok to expect some accommodations to be made. By the same token, if you do not require those accommodations then it is your responsibility not to use them. Don't park in the handicap parking place just because it's there. Don't get the DAS just because you can. And if you or no one in your family has a disability then send up a quick thank you that you are healthy and don't even try to get a pass

Im in the same boat as you. Last time we visited both my autistic daughter and wheelchair bound wife pre qualified for the das before 60 days out and we could pre book 2 rides a day. Were going july 10 and cant do anything until 30 days before our trip, but “ Disability Access Service (DAS)

DAS is one of our programs offered at Walt Disney World theme parks intended to accommodate those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.

Guests may have a conversation with a Cast Member to determine eligibility for DAS via live video chat. There is not an in-person option to request DAS Registration.”.

It depends on when you're registering, as there are some changes going into effect starting May 20 at Disney World. From now until May 19, the party size will remain a total of six (the DAS user and five guests). Starting May 20, the party size will be reduced to four total (the DAS user and three guests). Exceptions may be made for immediate family members if the party size is larger than four.

It depends on the show, as DAS is only available for select shows (typically ones with more than one showtime, so it would not be available for Fantasmic). For shows that offer DAS, a return time will be given for the next show if the current show is full. But if there's room, DAS isn't needed and you can go right in!

We will have a party of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids), 2 of the kids will qualify for DAS. Originally we were thinking of just getting one DAS under my son and listinf my husband and me and the 3 kids. Our 3 grown kids buy the genie+ for since they'll most likely stay in the parks after we head back to the hotel for the night and probably go off on their own throughout the day. I know the person with the DAS needs to board the attraction since they have to scan first but does that mean they actually have to ride? A couple of scenarios come to my head that I'm not sure how to handle. 1 - my youngest wants to ride but neither of her other siblings (DAS qualifiers) are interested. In this environment we wouldn't be able to have myself or my husband out numbered by the 2 while the other one waits in the normal like with the youngest. So we need to utilize DAS all kids go through line and scan badge but only 1 adult and 1 non DAS member actually ride. Or 2 - my son (the one we would put the DAS in) says he wants to ride something but then as we are about to board his anxiety gets the best of him and doesn't want to ride, can the other 2 kids and my husband still ride? My youngest and other DAS qualifier wouldn't understand why they got up to the ride and are then turned down to go back to the normal line....this would probably create a meltdown in one child and just a very sad child in the youngest.

Is more than one person in each party able to have a DAS pass. For example I have a spine disorder and my daughter as a sensory disorder. Are we each able to get our own DAS pass so I have a tag for the stroller for her and I am able to reserve a return time for rides for myself.

It is possible. However, a DAS holder cannot include another DAS holder on their return times, so if you both get DAS, you would need to get separate return times. We would recommend it if perhaps your party plans to split up and go on different rides. But if you plan to ride everything together, we'd just recommend one DAS, so everyone can be on the same return time.

Hi, I am arriving in Orlando from London in about a week. I have spent quite a while trying to get a video call to apply for a DAS, just found out from a cast member that as I am not in the US, I cannot get a DAS in advance. I did not see this on any of the information on the website - is this correct? Does this also mean that I cannot get the 2 advance selections at any point as I can only apply in person when I get to the park?

Hi, Myself and my family will be travelling to Orlando from Scotland in June 2024 and my mum has recently undergone emergency bowel surgery. We have booked park tickets for the trip and she is still determined she will come with us to the parks - she just get exhausted easily and i dont think she will be able to stand for long periods of time. Will she qualify for DAS?

DAS is given out on a case-by-case basis, so we'd suggest that you check in with Guest Services when you arrive at the parks to discuss your options as they determine qualifications individually. If the only issue is that she may not be able to stand, they may suggest a wheelchair or ECV, which does not require the use of DAS. Though again, it's a needs-based program, so she will need to explain her needs to a cast member so they can determine the best options for accommodations.

A parent or guardian can talk through a minor's accommodations on their behalf during the DAS registration process. However, the DAS holder would need to be present at some point during the call for the cast member to take a photo.

They told me they would not be able to accept it through you as a 3rd party due to you using a different email address than what I used to purchase the ticket with? I purchased my ticket with the email address that I have my Disneyland account linked to- not sure what email address they are referring to that you use for the tickets?

Disney granted me a DAS pass, but one issue we had was that we didn't know how it worked during deluxe resort extended hours. We mistakenly thought it was not offered. So we

waited in line about 15.minutes then asked a cast member we passed if DAS holders were permitted to use the lightning lane. I guess we did not ask the right question. A manger/supervisor assured us we could use the lightning lane and simply escorted us into the lighting lane. Further into the attraction though, we were asked to scan our bands. Since.we had not signed up electronically, according to that CM, we did not have a pass. She treated us as if we were cheats without letting us explain. We politely tried to explain, and I tried to show her the DAS permission, but she just insisted we had to exit the queue. It was humiliating and upsetting. I happily would have requested an electronic pass had i known that they were available, but it was my first visit using a DAS. We were not trying to do anything outside the rules.

I am writing this to you because I do not see this part explained and it might help others to know that electronic DAS continues during the extra PM park hours, so others can avoid what happened to us. Knowing in how to properly use DAS is important, especially in a place as complex as WDW.

There are two options when registering for DAS: 1) DAS Advance — you would need to complete a video chat with a cast member anytime between 2 and 30 days ahead of your visit. 2) Register by visiting Guest Relations upon arrival at your first park.

The DAS holder will have to indicate which party members will be considered DAS guests and get them added to the DAS group. (Being linked on the Family & Friends list isn't enough.) If the DAS holder has more than 6 members in their group, we'd suggest being prepared to select which members will be attached to the DAS pass. Also, all group members would need to be present. While it wouldn't hurt to ask if more can be added so they can switch between members, ultimately, it's up to the cast member's discretion.

Only the Guest Relations locations inside the parks can help with DAS registration. However, between 2 and 30 days prior to your visit, there is the option for DAS Advance, so you can set up two DAS selections via live video chat.

Is the DAS pass really worth it? It seems like the return times are blocked once one has been set. So, you can't really plan your day. To me, it sounds like more waiting around outside of a line... then inside the lines. In other words, if they tell you to come back in two hours for a ride... what are we supposed to do in those two hours when the person needing the pass can't wait in other lines during that time?

Yes, you got it exactly! This is the purpose of the DAS service, as it's not — and shouldn't be considered as — a way to skip lines. It takes the current wait time and gives you a return time for the same amount of time you would've waited in standby (you just don't have to be physically in line). While you can't get another return time for a different ride until you use it up, there are still plenty of things you can do! You can grab some food or a snack, watch a show, shop for a souvenir, meet characters and go on rides that have low enough wait times. If you want expedited access to rides, you can opt to purchase Genie+ and use both services hand-in-hand.

My question is that can you have 2 in the same party with DAS? There is my mum, dad, husband, me, our son (8yo) and our daughter (4yo). The kids are the ones requiring the DAS but really they would need 2 as there is a 4 year age gap - he will probably want to use his on the thrill rides whereas she will want meet and greets and things like Peter Pan: is this doable or is it only one DAS per booking? Thank you in advance :)

You can have two people with DAS in the same party so that you can separate. Just keep in mind that if you're riding all together, each person will need their own return time as they cannot be listed as a guest on each other's return time.

My father recently registered for DAS for our upcoming trip in June 2023. If he can ride the individual lightning lanes, do I still need to "buy" the individual lightning lanes or will DAS work as it does with all the other rides? Even if the individual lightning lanes sell out does that mean we can still walk up to the cast member at the entrance and they will give us a time to come back? Or can you secure these on the app as you do with the other rides? Thank you for clarifying!

Hoppy to clarify, as it's not super straightforward & simple! In general though, these rides do offer DAS, so you do not have to purchase ILL if you don't want to. However, there are some nuances. 1) If a ride offers ILL and a traditional standby line, you can get return times through the app or in person, as normal. Just keep in mind that the line may be long, so it's more likely that you'll get a return time later in the day (and since you can only hold one DAS return time at a time, you wouldn't be able to get another DAS return time until then). If you wish to speed up the process and not tie up a DAS return time for that long, you can opt to purchase an ILL. 2) If you pre-register using the DAS Advance option (up to 30 days before your visit), rides that offer ILL cannot be reserved in advance, but you can get DAS return times on the day of. 3) If a ride offers ILL and a virtual queue (at this time, it's only TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT), you must join the virtual queue and be assigned a Boarding Group in order to use DAS, if you did not purchase an ILL. Once your Boarding Group number is called, you can check in with a cast member at the entrance and proceed through the Lightning Lane. If you were unsuccessful at getting a Boarding Group, you would need an ILL (as these are the only two ways to access these particular rides at this time).

I read through the entire guide and comments but didn’t see my question answered. I obtained DAS today for my son through the video chat. Does Disney offer return times for rides through park closing? Or is it like Genie+ and return times “sell out”? For example, if lightning lanes for Flight of the Passage sell out, can you still get a DAS return time so long as the posted wait time will get you on the ride prior to park closing? Meaning it’s a 90 minute wait but the park closes in 3 hours, can you grab a DAS return time? I think the answer is yes but I wanted to verify. Thanks for your helpful website!

As long as the current wait time would get you on prior to park closing, then you should be toadally fine! If it's getting to closer to park close and the wait time is high (say 60 minutes at 7:30 p.m. when park close is at 8 p.m.), in our experience, our frog fam has been able to ask nicely and get return times that would be shorter than normal to get on before closing. Though in general, this specific ask may just depend on wait times, the attraction and discretion of the cast members.

If the DAS pass for your mom has expired, you would need to go through the registration process again to renew. The DAS holder needs to be there in person anytime you register or renew. However, if your son has a disability too, then we'd suggest going to Guest Services to get him registered as a DAS holder.

We're not toadally sure if you can join or connect the live call together from different places (though when requesting a live chat, it doesn't appear to have that as an option). That said, we would suggest that you make sure everyone in your entire party is connected through your Family and Friends list and is sharing plans with each other before either person requests the chat. Then, perhaps the cast member assisting Group 2 would be able to see the DAS Advance selections that Group 1 has already made, and can try to assist as best as possible to get DAS Advance selections that have the same return time or ones that overlap. (Also note: if your total party consists of six people, then you'd really only need one person to sign up for DAS, as it would cover the DAS holder and up to five guests.)

We will be traveling with 5 adults, 1 child (who has a DAS) and a 2 year who doesn’t require a ticket. In the past when using the DAS pass the person assigned to the DAS scans their magic band first and then the 5 people going along scan their magic band. Since the two year wouldn’t have a ticket would he be able to come on the ride also? He would be the 7th but our party would only be scanning for six.

Great question! You should be fine, based on the fact that children under 3 who don't have a ticket can stay with their groups when using Genie+ or an individual Lightning Lane selection. But we'd recommend that you ask for confirmation when you register for DAS (because otherwise, it could vary by attraction).

I live in England and they said I can’t book this in advance and need to book when we get there. Do I need to take pip paperwork and blue badge with me. In England I have an access card. Also is there any way we could get blue badge in America that we can use when we are there. Any help grateful.

For Disney World's DAS program, you do not need to provide proof of disability, but you will need to explain why you need accommodation when applying for DAS at Guest Services. As for your Blue Badge, you may need to apply for a temporary disabled parking permit through the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

My 11 year old son has CP and although we have been to Disney before he was a lot smaller and a stroller was sufficient. He is not much older and walking and heavier and will require an adaptive stroller or a wheelchair to get around as his main mode of transport. Will he be eligible for DAS and will he be able to get on many rides, were he will not have to be lifted too much by me that will be painful for both of us for a full day trip.

DAS arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis, though the standard is 6 total in a party (including the DAS user). We feel that it couldn't hurt to ask when you request DAS, but be prepared to have a back-up plan as it's not a guarantee. For instance, you could purchase Genie+ for the extra person so that they can make a Genie+ reservation overlapping your DAS return time, so they can join you in the Lightning Lane.

You would only need one person to have DAS, unless your group is larger than 6 people total. If you are traveling with a larger party, then you could get DAS for both and split the party so that everyone is covered. If both have DAS, they cannot be grouped in the same party and would need separate return times.

We'd recommend that the two DAS holders have separate MDE accounts, as each one will need their own DAS return time (two DAS holders can't be on the same one), but link everyone else in the party to both accounts. If going on the same ride, the DAS holders should be able to get return times within a similar time window, so everyone can go in line together. It may be a little trickier with virtual queues, but if you end up in different boarding groups, we'd ask the team members in front of the ride if you can combine.

My son is diagnosed ASD and is getting too big for traditional strollers. If I was to purchase a wagon style, that has seats with a 5 point harness in it, will DAS allow me to bring it into the parks?

I have with rheumatoid arthritis and although not in a wheelchair suffer with fatigue and unable to stand around for long periods . Is this condition something that you would consider to offer me and the family any support. Thanks

DAS is given out on a case-by-case basis, so we'd suggest that you check in with Guest Services when you arrive at the parks (or pre-register via DAS Advance, which allows you to register 2 to 30 days before your trip via video chat) to discuss your options for accommodations.
