Roll call! Disney adults, raise your hand! Not surprisingly, both Leap and I have our hands proudly raised! If you've been hopping along with us for a while, you know we've already shared our guides to Disney World with Adults and Disneyland with Adults, but today, we're expanding to share everything you'd want to know about the adult-only spaces on a Disney cruise. A Disney cruise can be a great vacation choice for adults that includes a mix of relaxation, entertainment and magical moments. In this post, we'll share helpful info, our top tips and things to consider when planning a Disney cruise for adults. And we're so excited to announce that your favorite frogs now offer exclusive Disney Cruise Line savings! So grab your favorite (adult) beverage and let's get started.
Planning a Disney Cruise for Adults
It's no secret that Disney Cruise Line is the number one rated cruise option for families. It's a no-brainer, right? From special character meet-and-greets, and themed Disney kids clubs, to the seemingly endless amount of family-friendly amenities and activities — a Disney cruise vacation just makes a lot of sense for families with children.
We've cherished every family Disney vacation at sea and are eager to go on more in the future. BUT, we've also experienced the magic of a Disney cruise without the kiddos. Yes, our friends and family give us the side-eye when they ask, "Isn't a Disney cruise just for kids?" It's a valid question and one you might be asking yourself. Well, let us assure you — a Disney Cruise isn't exclusively for kids. In fact, we had an incredibly enjoyable and froggerific trip without the little ones. (But, shhh! Don't let Lily and Tad in on our secret!)
Whether you're cruising with the tadpoles and in need of adult hideaways during their playtime at the kids' clubs, or if you're on a child-free vacay, we've got all the deets to help you plan the ultimate adult getaway.

Adult-Only Areas on a Disney Cruise
This goes without saying, but you will obviously see and hear lots of children on a Disney cruise. If you prefer a cruise setting without kids, then a Disney Cruise might not align with that idea. Instead, we'd suggest checking out Virgin or Viking for a more adult-oriented experience. Your friendly frogs here have some fantastic deals on these cruise lines too!
As parents, we love the energy and joy that children bring to the world. However, we're also realists and can be open about wanting to enjoy upscale and tranquil environments without the kids. Across every ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, there are several adult-exclusive spaces. In fact, approximately one-third of each ship is dedicated to these adult-only areas, including lounges, nightclubs, restaurants, pool areas, as well as spa and fitness facilities. Now, that's got your attention!
Quiet Cove
We love spending time at Quiet Cove, an adults-only area that can be found on every Disney cruise ship. Tucked away from the family activities, this peaceful oasis is only for guests 18 and older. You can lounge by the pool, soak up the sun or simply relax with a refreshing drink in hand. Quiet Cove also features comfy loungers and several whirlpool spas throughout the area, perfect for #metime.
Cove Cafe
Cove Cafe, located within Quiet Cove is another lovely spot just for adults. This is where you can find those specialty coffees with Disney character latte art, teas and pastries. You can even find a selection of cocktails, wine and light bites in the evening. Some of the adult beverage tastings are held here as well (more on that below). I like to kick back in the comfy seats, take in the sea views and allow myself to just relaaaaaax. Exhale! Whether you're a coffee lover or just want a quiet break, Quiet Cove Café is this Mommy Frog's go-to spot for a bit of calm at sea.
Adult Dining Options
Just about everywhere you turn, you'll find delicious dining options spread across the ship. You can't go wrong with any of the rotational dining rooms, deck eateries or lounge areas. But for a refined dining experience sans the kiddos, you'll want to set your sights on either Palo (or Palo Steakhouse on the Disney Wish), Remy or Enchanté. These sophisticated restaurants are designed exclusively for the grown-up froggies.
Palo & Palo Steakhouse
Palo is an adult-exclusive restaurant that can be found all on the DCL ships. This fan-favorite restaurant has floor-to-ceiling ocean views, a menu inspired by the flavors of Northern Italy and top-notch service. Palo is open for brunch and dinner and is located on the Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy. The Wish is home to Palo Steakhouse. Foodies, get excited because here you can indulge in exquisite seafood, mouthwatering steaks and savory pasta dishes. We are huge fans and highly recommend the chocolate souffle for dessert! To secure a spot at Palo, you'll want to make an advance reservation or once you're onboard the ship. For even more delicious details, check out our Palo restaurant review.
Remy
For another adult-exclusive experience, try Remy—a high-end French restaurant inspired by the rat-chef from "Ratatouille." Remy is located on the Dream and Fantasy. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate, focusing on beautifully presented dishes with exceptional flavors. Remy's menu offers a multi-course meal paired with exquisite wines, all under the direction of three-Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement. The attention to detail is incredible, and the food is absolutely amazing, with fresh ingredients and outstanding flavor combinations. Leap still talks about our experience here.
On cruise itineraries 4 nights or longer, you can enjoy a champagne brunch and a special dessert experience as well.
Enchanté
On the Wish, Enchanté is a "Beauty and the Beast"-inspired restaurant that has the most lavish culinary experience aboard. The gourmet menu is also meticulously crafted by the three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement and showcases seasonal ingredients sourced globally. Enchanté also offers a champagne brunch and a five-course dessert experience.
At the entrance of Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté is The Rose, a stylish lounge designed after the enchanted castle from "Beauty and the Beast." Guests can access The Rose through a corridor designed with beautiful artwork created just for the Wish. Alongside a curated selection of high-end wines and liquors, The Rose has a special menu featuring amuse-bouche and small plates straight from the Enchanté galley.
There's an additional cost associated with all the adult-only restaurants, but we've always considered the experience well worth it! Don't froget that there is a dress code where semi-formal or formal attire is required. We've found that you don't have to be super dressy, but a clean and polished look is the way to go. Men, shorts and open-toe shoes are not permitted. If needed, you can rent dressy attire from the Maitre d'.
Entertainment & Nightlife
If you've never sailed on a Disney cruise, you're probably wondering what all there is to see and do. For you veteran cruisers, we see you nodding and smiling — because you already know ... there's so much to do on board that you really can't do it all! Disney Cruise Line does a terrific job at offering entertainment and activities seemingly around the clock. These ships never sleep!
Not only is there a lot going on, but there's plenty of variety and different entertainment times offered so that it's easy for folks to hop around from thing to thing if that's your goal. The list of daily activities and entertainment schedules will be listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Some of our favorite adults-only activities are the themed dance parties, silent disco and karaoke! We even caught the most hilarious and we'll admit, a little risque marriage-style gameshow.
On the Magic, After Hours is the adult entertainment and nightlife district. You can start your evening at the sophisticated Keys piano bar to enjoy a cocktail and live music, then head next door to O'Gills Pub and unwind with a pint. As the night unfolds, pop over to Fathoms nightclub to dance the night away.
After Hours, is also found on Deck 3 of the Wonder, which has three different nightclubs and lounges. Azure, with its sea chic décor, serves up signature cocktails, while Crown & Fin Pub captures the essence of a British tavern. In the evening, Cadillac Lounge transforms into a hoppin' hotspot with themed events and music.
The Skyline on the Dream is a unique lounge that showcases views of iconic cities that change as you "travel" to different city destinations. This makes for the most frogtastic spot for pre- or post-dinner drinks. The Evolution nightclub invites you to cut a rug, while Pink is a chic, champagne-inspired lounge for a touch of glamour.
Meanwhile, aboard the Fantasy, the Europa district transports you to different European cities with O'Gills Pub, La Piazza, The Tube and Ooh La La. So swanky!
You'll have a blast on any of the DCL ships, but for an adults-only cruise, the Wish, stands out as our top recommendation. Currently holding the title of the largest ship in the fleet, the Wish just has so many dedicated adult-only spaces. The Wish's upcoming sister ships The Disney Treasure (sailing Dec. 2024) and The Disney Destiny (sailing Nov. 2025) will also feature a ton of themed bars and lounges. I cannot wait for that Haunted Mansion Parlor!
On the Wish, you'll find Nightingale's, an adult-only piano bar, right off the Grand Hall. Just down the corridor, there's the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, where you'll be transported to a galaxy far far away! Luna is a family lounge by day but turns into an adult-only lounge at night. Additionally, Keg & Compass has a nautical vibe where you can enjoy craft brews and snacks. Of course, our favorite is The Bayou, inspired by "The Princess and the Frog," which has a beautiful setting with magnolia blossoms covering the entire ceiling. We frogs certainly feel at home here. ;)
If you get the chance, we highly recommend you attend the "Walking the Wish" tour. Led by a Disney crew member, you'll be taken on a tour of the Wish and learn fascinating details about the Imagineering and design elements that went into creating the Wish.
For even more info, visit our hoppin' guide to all the Disney cruise bars and lounges.
Mixology Classes & Beverage Tastings
Besides enjoying the bars and lounges, you can try out the beverage tastings or mixology classes. Wine lovers can join expert-led tastings to explore grape varieties and pairing techniques. Craft beer enthusiasts can delve into unique brews, learning all about brewing processes and flavor profiles. You can also participate in hands-on mixology seminars, where you'll craft your own cocktails, including some of Disney Cruise Line's signature drinks.
To participate, be sure to register online as soon as your booking window opens (according to your Castaway Club membership stats). You can also check the cruise itinerary on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and visit Guest Services or the designated venue to secure a spot. Still have questions? We've got you covered with the adult-exclusive Disney cruise extras you'll want to try on your next sail.
Senses Spa & Fitness Center
Another adult-exclusive area on the Disney ships is the Senses Spa & Salon and Fitness Center. That's right! No kiddos allowed here. Imagine escaping the hustle of everyday life as you enter the serene spa. Here, you can rejuvenate mind and body with a range of spa treatments, from soothing massages to rejuvenating facials. You'll also want to book some time in the Rainforest Room, which features steam rooms, stone lounge chairs and hydrotherapy experiences. We've got all the zen-filled details in our relaxing guide to the Senses Spa & Salon here.
Adult froggies can stay active with state-of-the-art equipment at the fitness center. You can join group classes like yoga and spinning, all with panoramic ocean views. I tried out an early morning stretch class on our last sailing and loved the experience. It was such a nice way to start the day!
Adults-Only Serenity Bay
Located at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Serenity Bay is an adults-only beach exclusively for guests ages 18 and older. In this secluded area, you can enjoy dedicated bar areas, a barbeque lunch buffet and ample seating, including hammocks. Can you picture yourself sinking your toes into the powdery white sand, surrounded by turquoise waters and listening to the sounds of the ocean waves? If you haven't already guessed, this is where you'll find this Mommy Frog!
Oh and don't worry, both island destinations offer FREE child care for children ages 3 to 1o years of age. There's Scuttle's Cove at Castaway Cay and Sebastian's Cove at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. For babies and toddlers, you can reserve childcare on the ship at "it's a small world" nursery! for an additional fee.
Additionally, Disney Cruise Line has thought of it all and even offers port adventures just for adults. These excursions include both adventurous and culturally rich experiences from exploring historic landmarks, indulging in local cuisine or snorkeling and parasailing.
By now, I think we can all agree that the Disney Cruise Line isn't just for the kids. A Disney cruise vacation offers a ton of activities and spaces exclusively for adults. From adult-only dining experiences and entertainment to tranquil spa retreats and secluded island paradises, the possibilities are almost endless!
