Overview of Disney Jollywood Nights

New this year, Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event occurring after regular park hours on 10 select nights from Nov. 11 to Dec. 20, 2023. This brand-new event combines the holidays with the glitz and glam of the past. While there is plenty to enjoy during the day with the holidays at Disney's Hollywood Studios, this event will include lots of exclusive offerings not seen anywhere else!

The event will feature the return of the fan-favorite "Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM" nighttime spectacular plus even more special entertainment, including a new show hosted by Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog (you know we frogs will be there!). There will be character greetings throughout the park, along with access to favorite rides such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (with a virtual queue), Slinky Dog Dash, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and more. Disney Jollywood Nights - Calendar

Disney Jollywood Nights Special Entertainment

Jollywood Nights is wrapped full of exclusive entertainment. Here's what we know so far!

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Hollywood Studios - Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!

Jollywood Nights will bring the return of "Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!". This nighttime spectacular was last shown during the 2019 holiday season. Join elf duo Wayne and Lanny from "Prep and Landing" with festive projections on the Chinese Theater, music, lasers, fireworks and more.

Note that Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! looks to be exclusive to the event and will likely not be shown during regular park hours.

Stage Show at Theater of the Stars

A new show hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy? Sign us up! Our two favorite muppets host a musical variety show with guests such as Belle, Tiana, Mickey and Minnie. The stage show will take place at the Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard.

Sing-Along at the Hyperion Theater

A spirited sing-along will occur at the Hyperion Theater throughout the night (hints suggest it could be Nightmare Before Christmas-themed!). We can't wait to know more about this festive experience.

Limited-Capacity Experiences

Delight in a Hollywood-themed jazz lounge at The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant or an other-worldly soiree at The Hollywood Tower Hotel Courtyard. These events will both have limited capacity. Stay tuned for more details about how these special experiences will operate.

Other Entertainment

Enjoy a DJ spinning holiday tunes near the front of the park or partake in a lively Latin Street Fair on Commissary Lane. Plus, be sure to utilize your complimentary PhotoPass downloads with special MagicShots and two new photo experiences.

Disney Jollywood Nights Character Greetings and Rides

We're so excited to see some of our favorite characters at Jollywood Nights, including some rare characters! Here's who we know so far (what a treat!):

  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends in Animation Courtyard (on a hot set with holiday props)
  • Powerline Max and Phineas and Ferb at Echo Lake (with classic holiday decor)
  • Edna Mode and Frozone at Pixar Plaza

Rides

Disney After Hours — No crowds in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Amongst all the holiday fun, you'll also be able to enjoy lower wait times on your favorite attractions! As a brand-new event, we'll have to see if wait times end up being similar to other evening events such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios. With so much special entertainment and exclusive offerings, we generally recommend not focusing on rides as much, or saving them for the end of the event. Since you can get in at 7 p.m., that gives you an hour and a half of regular park hours to hop on some attractions, especially any that might not be open during the event.

Confirmed Attractions Thus Far:

Sunset Boulevard

  • Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Toy Story Land

  • Slinky Dog Dash

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

  • Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Virtual queue only)

More attractions will likely be announced as we get closer or confirmed at the first event.

Disney Jollywood Nights Dining and Shopping

Disney Jollywood Nights — Christmas Tree Cookie Stack

Specialty food and drink will be available for purchase during the event such as the Christmas Tree Cookie Stack, Spicy Korean Chicken on a Mini Funnel Cake and classic cocktails and holiday beverages. We can't wait to try it all!

We'll be sure to update which stores are open and if there is any exclusive party merchandise.

Tips for Jollywood Nights

We can't wait to share all our frogtastic tips for Disney Jollywood Nights once we attend. In the meantime, here are some of our tried-and-true tips and tricks for a separately ticketed event.

  • Be sure to arrive as early as possible. While the event starts at 8:30 p.m., you can arrive as early as 7 p.m. with just your event ticket. This is a great time to eat dinner (if you haven't already), watch Fantasmic or knock out some rides.
  • Dress for the occasion! This new event puts the "holly" in Hollywood with the glitz and glam of the past. It's a perfect chance to pull out some dapper outfits with so many great photo-ops.
  • Be sure to prioritize your must-dos for the event. Will it be a certain entertainment show, the fireworks or exploring the park at night and enjoying low waits on rides? It's up to you to decide, but know you'll typically want to focus on either lots of rides or the majority of entertainment.
  • Remember that Rise of the Resistance will only be available during the party using a virtual queue. You'll need to join a boarding group in the My Disney Experience app in order to ride.
  • Be sure to utilize the many PhotoPass photographers and festive backdrops, as complimentary PhotoPass digital downloads are included with your event ticket!
  • Stay until the very end to maximize your night. While making it past midnight can be tricky, there's so much you can get done in the final hour if you can power through.

I wonder why they are doing a virtual que for Rise. I don't remember the After Hours in January being virtual.

Hi Shay!

There's always a possibility that virtual queues can return from time to time, particularly if Disney expects there could be high demand. While we don't know any specific reason on why it's returning for Rise, our best guess is due to Jollywood Nights being a brand-new event.

I already have tickets for that day at HWS. Will they allow us to stay until closing or kick us out early like they do on Mickey's Christmas at the MK?

I really wish they would sell a discounted version of this ticket if you are already booked for that park but the word discount and Disney are rarely used together.

Hi IthacaGuy!

The event is scheduled to take place from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Hollywood Studios typically closes at 9 p.m. Park hours haven't been officially released yet (currently only showing up to Nov. 3), but it is likely the park will close a little early.

Any idea what time the virtual queue will open for ROR for Jollywood Nights?

Hi Melissa!

Disney has not announced details on the virtual queue for Jollywood Nights yet. But if we had to guess based on how the virtual queue works for Extended Evening Hours (Tron and Cosmic Rewind) and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Tron), it would open at 6 p.m. and guests would not have to be inside the park when the virtual queue opens. We will update this post once details are officially confirmed.

Is the 5 1/2 hours enough time to experience DHS, especially Galaxy's Edge and its rides? We have been to DHS before but it was 10+ years ago.

Hi Mike!

Disney Jollywood Nights is a brand-new event this year, so we aren't 100% sure what crowd levels and wait times will be like. If it'll be anything like the After Hours event that happened earlier this year (with a similar timeframe), then you should be able to get most, if not all, of the rides done. However, if you're interested in seeing the shows such as Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and A Frozen Sing-Along and taking your time with Galaxy Edge experiences including Savi's and Droid Depot, you may want to visit during the day.

Any idea when the lineup for the candlelight processional at EPCOT will be announced? I want to work my party days around that!

Hi Sandy!

We wish we knew so we could help you plan, but we're not toadally sure! Last year, Disney made the lineup announcement at the end of September, so we wouldn't expect to hear anything until a couple months out. But we'll be sure to update our Festival of the Holidays post as soon as we hear anything official!

Hi Ann!

We don't know the entertainment schedule just yet! It will more than likely be announced closer to the event, and typically, Disney updates the entertainment schedule about six weeks in advance. We'll be sure to update this post once we know!

We were planning on going to Hollywood Studios as a regular park day on one of the Jollywood Nights events. Will we have to leave the park early?

Hi Pamela!

The event will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Hollywood Studios typically closes at 9 p.m. For official confirmation, park hours aren't released until about six weeks in advance. It is likely the park will close a little early (we'd assume it'll be around 8 p.m., though again, we won't know for sure until it gets closer!).
