I love the summer! I love late nights, warm temperatures, vacations, and all things slow and lazy that come with this fabulous season! There's really no better place to make your summer vacation plans than Disney World. Crowds are doable, school work won't be missed, and with all that extra daylight, you really can play the night away! Today I'm sharing with you my top 5 Disney World summer 2014 must-dos for all of you who are visiting Disney World!
1. Ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
OK, so I've not actually done this myself (sad times for me), but if you're going to Disney World this summer then you MUST ride the newest addition to the parks. With its official opening day just a few days ago, this mine train is fresh and ready for the riding. Make sure to take advantage of FastPass+ so that you can ride without the wait. There's no better way to "rock your Disney side" than in the mines -- get it!!!! Make your way straight to New Fantasyland and set to work in the mines with Happy, Dopey, Doc, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Happy. Miners are wanted ... this means YOU!
2. Enjoy the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade
This parade is relatively new so if you've not been to the parks in the past few months, you'll find this beautiful parade to capture the wonder and magic of it all! Watch in amazement as the queen of the summer, Maleficent (in dragon form), makes her way down the streets of Main Street USA -- she really knows how to heat it up on a summer day! Enjoy a nice cold treat as you watch this amazing, beautiful Festival of Fantasy!
3. Rock out at EPCOT's Sounds Like Summer Concert Series
In June and July, the American Pavilion stage in EPCOT is literally rocking to the sounds of the summer. Tribute bands from some of the greatest of the greats will send good vibrations across the World Showcase Lagoon. Admission to the concerts are included with regular park admission, just make sure you get there in time to get a good seat.

4. Cool Things Down at a Disney Water Park
You simply can't skip out on the great water park options that Disney has to offer! From the water coaster Crushin' Gusher at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon to the daring drop 12 stories down Summit Plummet at Disney's Blizzard Beach there are thrills and action around every turn. Don't worry, if you're looking for a chance to chill out, there are plenty of opportunities for lounging in the sun, floating down a lazy river on a tube, and simply enjoying the pool. There's really something for everyone in your party to enjoy at these awesome water parks! I highly suggest you check out the water parks during your stay this summer. Remember, if you upgrade to the water park option, you can stretch out your vacation (you can use park tickets on some days and water park tickets on other days so you can make 4 days worth of theme park tickets into an 8-day trip with water park days).
5. Celebrate Harambe Nights
Enjoy this awesome new event in honor of the 20th anniversary of "The Lion King." Every Saturday night from June 7 through Aug. 14, you'll be able to attend this awesome event. Tickets to this special summer event are $119 for adults and $79 for children. Start the night off with a reception then move to the Harambe theater to enjoy the new stage show The Lion King: Concert in the Wild. Finish the night off in the streets of Animal Kingdom and enjoy a variety of activities (like dancing, characters, music, merchandise and all inclusive food and beverages). Check out the celebrities who are set to narrate the show, here's the lineup:
