Will the closure of Paradise Pier affect crowds during Spring break time at all? We are considering the week of April 9-13 but know that is right in the middle of Spring break.

Spring break will definitely bring in heavier crowds, and Paradise Pier's closure may make it slightly busier. But no worries, you'll still have a blast!

Apologies if this has already been asked. Does anyone know the closure dates for Pirates at Disneyland? We plan on being there May 08 and was planning to dine at Blue Bayou but not sure the experience will be the same with the closure of the ride.

Hello, and thank you for your helpful advice. I surprising my girlfriend with a trip to Disneyland on may 24 also made a dinner reservation for that night. But I thought I saw something about pirates being closed that day and it would be a bummer ylto not be able to go on that ride and have dinner next to a construction site. Would you recommend maybe going in June or do you think that it would be up and running by then? Thank you so much for your help

Hi Amir!

Unfortunately, a reopening date has not yet been announced for Pirates, so we can't be sure if going in June instead would make a difference. We recommend sticking with your May 24 trip! We don't think the construction will interfere with your meal.

Thanks. One of the pages on the Adventures by Disney site is indicating that World of Color will be closed for refurb in late April and early May which, if true, would be disappointing. I have contacted DLR to see if they will confirm. Waiting for a response.

Do refurbishments generally finish on time? My daughter is obsessed with Dumbo. Disneyland will be the saddest place on earth if it is closed when we visit April 23-25.

Hi Jennifer,

Disneyland hasn't yet announced when Dumbo will be back up and running. However, given it's a smaller ride and closed for refurbishment early January, we would guess that it will be back open for your April trip!

Hello, we’re heading to Disney from the UK middle of August 14th- 18th. Do you think Paradise Pier will be open by then? Also I checked out some rides that were closed that time last year, and it seemed to be Big Thunder Mountain most days. Is this usually closed in August do you know? Thanks!

Hi Kirsty,

We are unsure of the exact date Pixar Pier will open, but Disney says it will open in Summer 2018! So, hopefully this definitely means by August. We can't say for sure when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closes, but it usually goes down sometime in August or September for a few days!

While the tracks are being replaced on Main Street does that affect the stores and eateries on Main Street?

Hi Lyndia,

We don't expect the track refurbishment to impact normal Main Street operation.

Cheers,

We are visiting for our first time May 13-20 2018. Will CA Screamin (Incredicoaster) be closed then? With the Paradise Pier conversion to Pixar Pier is it even worth it to visit CA Adventure Park?

Hi Mel,

Thanks so much for reaching out! We don't anticipate the refurbishments on California Screamin'/Incredicoaster to be complete by your May visit, but keep checking back for updates! There is still plenty of fun to be had at California Adventure, don't worry :)

Hi Rafael,

Unfortunately, we're not seeing any fireworks or parades on the schedule at Disneyland until late February. Check the times guide upon arrival in case anything changes!

Hi I am planning to take my family to Disneyland on the week of February 22, our daughter is 6 years old. I heard most of Disneyland will be closed. Are most of the closures impacting rides and attractions for her age group and height (46") ? Will it be worth us driving to Disneyland park on those dates?

Hi Anthony,

You can check out Disneyland's height requirements here. Your 6 year-old will have a great time no matter what! There is a ton for you all to experience.

Unfortunately, Disney hasn't announced when the work will be complete. We can't say for sure, but we suspect many of the renovations will be finished by summer.

Do you think they will re-open Ariel’s Grotto? How can Disney not have a princess place to eat?

We are planning a Disneyland trip (18 people) May 29th 30th & 31st 2018 . Could you tell me if there are any of these days that could be closed for graduation party's? Thank you. Loretta. Also if the watermark will be open at that time? Thanks

Hi Loretta,

Disneyland will be hosting grad nites towards the end of May, but no worries! These events take place after the park closes, and shouldn't affect regular guests.

As for your second question, Disneyland does not have any waterparks. Could you please clarify? We're hoppy to help!

I went with a fractured toe. They have a system where you get a return time At the exit of certain rides so you don’t have to stand in line. You have to get a red tag or something similar at guest services when you first get to the park. You can get one at either California venture or Disneyland and it’s good for both parks for the duration of your stay

My husband was waiting for a knee replacement the last time we went. We rented a mobility scooter from a local company, with a location in one of the hotels on Harbor Blvd. That way he had it for the entire visit, including going to and from the hotel to the parks.

Hi Renee,

Disneyland is very accomondating for those who need assistance in enjoying the parks. Check out our post on the Disability Access Services, and always head to guest services to speak with a cast member about your needs before starting your day at the parks!
