Your (and Our) Favorite Disney World Treats Revealed

by Mommy Frog on August 22, 2013 9

treats

When we go on vacation, one of our guiding principles is trying new things and experiencing all there is to see, do ... and, yes, taste. So while we try to eat healthy when we're home at the Frog Pond, when we're on vacation -- especially at the Walt Disney World Resort -- we tend to indulge a little bit more.

I know every family is different, but for me, savoring the treats inside the theme park is an experience unto itself. I know I talked a little bit about my obsession with Disney's caramel apples in my post on our theme park "must-do's," but that's just scratching the surface of all the yumminess to be found inside the resort. While my fondness for the oohey-gooey stuff knows no end (especially if it's caramel or chocolate), today I wanted to talk about your favorite Disney World treats.

Cheshire Caramel Apple

Back in July, we asked you to share with us your favorite treat, and not surprisingly, the Dole Whip ranked no. 1! Yes, most everyone loves the Dole Whip, and we can't blame them -- after all the sweet, pineapply frozen goodness satisfies on a steamy Florida day (and let's face it, there are a lot of steamy Florida days). Whenever I find myself hopping through Adventureland, I just can't help but get excited when I see Aloha Isle. I don't have to tell you that there is almost always a line, but some of you may not know that there is a SECOND location for acquiring the Dole Whip. Yes, indeed, you can also get a self-serve Dole Whip at Capt. Cook's ... just a hop, skip and a hop from Magic Kingdom over at Disney's Polynesian Resort.

Spiced Rum Dole Whip

But I digress. I do want to give a shout-out to a few of the folks who already shared their favorite treats. Here is what they said:

Elizabeth: My daughter loves getting the Mickey ice cream on a stick.

Kimberly Anderson: My favorite snack is rice krispie mickey mouse

Sharon I.: My favorite snack at the parks is the frozen chocolate covered banana.

Donna: Just one???? How about a Dole Whip from the Polynesian then enjoying it while sitting on the beach watching the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom!! Or popcorn, a Mickey bar, a Nutella-fruit waffle……….!!!!

Chris Kelly: My favorite snack in the Napoleon located in the Pastry shop at the France Pavilion.

Trevor: We can’t pass up the Mickey Waffles. They’re sprinkled with pixie dust. Mmmmmm

Mickey Waffles

Who could say no to pixie dust, especially if it's chocolatey with syrup? I know we all have our favorites, but it's OK to try something new too ... isn't that what vacation is for?

Hi Michelle,

The ones in the picture came from Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. You can pick up other waffles and Mickey waffles at most of the resort restaurants as well!
