The Frog Family Is Off to Orlando!

by Mommy Frog on February 28, 2014

We just wanted to share a quick update and let you know that we are headed to the Orlando theme parks this weekend for an early spring break!

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

We've got a fun-filled week ahead of us, and we'll be sharing tons of photos and video on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so make sure to follow along.

Here are a few of the things we're looking forward to:

  • Getting up close to the floats in the Mardi Gras Parade at Universal Studios
  • Meeting Mickey and Minnie at Adventurer's Outpost in Disney's Animal Kingdom
  • Taking the Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
  • Meeting Anna and Elsa at Epcot
  • Dining at Tony's Town Square Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park
  • Trying to top our previous scores on Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Enjoying opening day of Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

If you're out in the parks and you see a family of frogs, be sure to say "Ribbit!!"

For those of you at home, what questions do you have for us? Share in comments below. While we're in the parks, we'll try to answer any questions you have.

Hoppy spring!

My family is heading down for the first time in a month! I have 3 boys (9, 8, and 6)

There's been a lot written about how to most effectively use the *old* FastPass program. But I can find very little strategic tips on FastPass+. What rides are best to use it on? What time slots should I shoot for? I can't even figure out typically which rides have the longest lines, and at what time of day.

We have passes for 6 days with Park Hopper (yes, 6!) and we're staying at Polynesian. What should our days look like? We'll be there when the parks open; what time to have lunch? Leave to swim and nap? What time to go back to the park? I have no idea how much stamina my kids will need. They're used to walking a mile to school, and are pretty active with sports.

Thanks for your help!

We have a ton of FastPass+ information and recommendations on our Skip the Lines page.

We also offer FastPass+ tips.

Since you are staying at a Disney resort, make sure you book your FastPasses as early as you can. Even with FastPasses, we recommend getting to the parks at opening and saving FastPasses for later in the day. For the shortest waits at lunch, eat during non-peak times (before 11:30 a.m. or after 1:00 p.m.). We generally recommend taking a break in the afternoon for families with younger children, but you know your children best. Since you have the park hoppers, you could leave the first park in the afternoon, head to the hotel to swim and rest, and then head to the second park in the late afternoon/early evening.

Let us know how the trip goes!!
