As we edge closer to the holiday opening of Fantasyland Forest, part of the Magic Kingdom’s largest expansion on record, Walt Disney World continues to dribble out tantalizing tidbits and morsels of information. Today, Disney announced that advance dining reservations will begin August 20 at 7 a.m. (Eastern) for Be Our Guest, the Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant.
Guests can make reservations up to 180 days in advance, and the very first seating will be for dinner (lunch is quick service) on November 19, when previews of the new Fantasyland begin. Until August 22, guests must make reservations by phone by calling 407-WDW-DINE (3463); after that, reservations can be made online as well.
Be Our Guest, which is nestled under Beast's castle, will offer a level of availability not achieved in Walt Disney World’s most popular restaurants by offering the quick-service lunch. And while lunch guests will order from terminals, the food will be served on china.
The restaurant, which features three themed dining rooms, will seat more than 500 guests. The Disney Parks Blog has noted in comments that this will not be a character dining experience.
The Disney Parks Blog previously reported on the French-inspired menu:
"Dinner is table service, with diverse starters such as a charcuterie plate with cured meats and sausages, mussels steamed in white wine, French onion or potato leek soup, and a salad with champagne vinaigrette. We’re intrigued by the salad trio with three mini tastes of roasted beet, raisins and orange; green beans, tomatoes and roasted shallots; and watermelon, radish and mint."
"Entrées include a thyme-scented pork rack chop with au gratin pasta, rotisserie rock hen with roasted fingerling potatoes, pan-seared salmon in leek fondue, grilled strip steak with pommes frites, sautéed shrimp and scallops with veggies in puff pastry with creamy lobster sauce, and an oven-baked ratatouille."
As Disney has dribbled out updates on the progress of construction, it appears that no detail has been too miniscule to overlook. The restaurant boasts three chandeliers -- the largest is 12 feet tall, over 11 and a half feet wide and comprises more than a hundred oversized crystals.
A limited number of annual passholders will have the opportunity to preview Fantasyland in November, and details about how to get in have not yet been released. The official Grand Opening of Fantasyland is set for December 6, 2012.
