Overview of Highmark Stadium
The oldest stadium used by the NFL, Highmark Stadium is a legendary venue in professional football. Acting as a beacon of excitement since its grand opening in 1973, this multi-purpose facility has housed the Buffalo Bills for its entire 50-year history. While primarily used for football games, Highmark has hosted various concerts and shows put on by well-known artists in the industry, including Metallica, Billy Joel, Beyonce and The Rolling Stones.
Construction is currently underway on a brand-new stadium, right next to the current one. It is expected to open in 2026 and will retain the same Highmark name. The new structure is expected to hold about 62,000 fans once it officially opens!

Highmark Stadium is located at 1 Bills Drive, Orchard Park, NY. It is close to highways such as I-90 or Route 219. Onsite parking is available as well as rideshare pick-up and drop-off. A convenient lot designated for rideshare use is located on the western end of the ECC South Campus. Public transportation to the venue is provided by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), specifically the Metro Game Day Express line.
Parking at Highmark Stadium
Driving to the stadium? Parking lots open four hours before and two hours after kickoff (while gates open two hours before kickoff). Season parking permits may be available for purchase. Singular game parking passes are not sold in advance. Most stadium-affiliated parking lots cost $40 for a regular-sized vehicle. Keep in mind that all parking lots at Highmark Stadium are cashless, accepting only credit cards for event day transactions.
Designated accessible parking spaces are available for fans with disabilities in Lot 2 ADA or Lot 6 ADA. There is also a designated parking lot specifically for buses and limousines, in a section called the Tailgate Village. Be sure to purchase your parking pass in advance to secure your spot.

There are three main tiers for Highmark Stadium seating — 100s, 200s and 300s. The seating capacity is usually about 71,608, but 71,870 for football games. Two particular areas provide a more family-friendly atmosphere to watch the game from — the Buffalo Bills No Alcohol Corner (sections 225, 226 and 227) and the M&T Family Zone (section 105).

What to Know Before You Go to Highmark Stadium
Be sure to note this important information before heading to the stadium:
- Bag policy — Clear bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or a non-clear clutch up to 6.5" x 4.5".
- Permitted items include binoculars, blankets, cameras (6-inch lenses or smaller) and seat cushions. Food is permitted if unopened, single serve in a clear plastic bag.

- Remember the stadium is cashless, so be sure to bring your credit or debit card. There are not any ATMs available.
