Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.
Here Are This Week’s Theme Park Highlights:
- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ... the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party of the season debuts today! You know what that means ... Magic Kingdom is full of twinkling lights, festive merch and adorable food offerings (like the Olaf Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake, pictured above). Be sure to hop to our full guide to the event for all of the details and look for updates from your favorite frogs next week!
- Not able to make the first party? No problem! You can watch the debut of the all-new, party-exclusive nighttime spectacular, "Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks," from your own castle on Friday, Nov. 8 at 9:55 p.m. EST. What a special gift, Disney Parks Blog!
- ICYMI, Disney Parks Blog also live-streamed the very first "A Frozen Holiday Wish" performance of the season. Watch as Elsa magically transforms Cinderella Castle into a dazzling winter wonderland. (It gives us chills every time!)
- Today also marks the start of the Holidays at Disneyland Resort! From Festival of Holidays to Viva Navidad. Be sure to check out our full guide so that you don't miss a holly jolly second! This year, get excited for new performances at Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure ... including a character celebration! Guests can groove to the merry music at “Mickey’s Happy Holidays,” along with favorite Disney and Pixar characters dancing to the beat of the Holiday Toy Drummers, twice daily.
- Step aside, figgy pudding and chestnuts roasting on an open fire. The scrumptious seasonal offerings at Disney Festival of Holidays look ahh-mazing. Mickey shaped? Check. Holiday themed? Check. Delicious? We can only imagine ... we can't wait to get our froggy fingers on them!
- Remember when we shared that Disney's Animal Kingdom welcomed a new baby eland, Doppler? Well, he made his official savanna debut this week! (How did they even fit all of that cute into one photo?!)
- We were really excited about all-new Villains After Hours event dates announced for 2020 ... and now, Walt Disney World has announced even more dates for After Hours events at both Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom next year, too! Leapin' lily pads, we better work at staying up past our bedtime ...
- We know, we know — Halloween Horror Nights 29 just ended! But the folks at Universal Orlando Resort are already in full planning mode for an epic Halloween Horror Night 30 in 2020. So much so that they've released next year's event dates! (Make the jump to see when you can, well, make the jump! We'll continue to update our post as more details are released.)
That’s it for the theme park news this week! Have a great weekend.
Hoppy planning!
