Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.
Here Are This Week's Theme Park Highlights:
- The Holidays at Disneyland will return from Nov. 11, 2022, through Jan. 8, 2023! The Merriest Place on Earth will once again feature "it's a small world" Holiday, Disney Festival of Holidays and World of Color — Season of Light ... plus so much more! We cannot wait to see Sleeping Beauty Castle alight with those signature twinkling icicles. Hop over to our full guide for all of the holly-jolly details.
- The first group of Cultural Representatives have returned to Walt Disney World! This means all Disney Programs at Walt Disney World are officially back! We cannot wait to say hello around World Showcase again — we've missed you, Cultural Representatives!
- We're officially one week away from Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, and we've got details on all of the amazing eats and treats awaiting us! Which items are on your must-eat list this year?
- SeaWorld Orlando's Craft Beer Festival is back! Featuring over 100 beverage offerings and 20 food samplings, the festival will run from noon until one hour before the park closes every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting now until September 5. Best of all, it's included with your SeaWorld admission!
- Credits are rolling on the Summer Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida. The store will close its doors Aug. 7 to prepare for Halloween Horror Nights. Also, a pop-up experience, Universal Monsters: Gallery of Legends, will be available from Sept. 2 through Halloween exclusively for Universal hotel guests at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Goodbye, summer — hello, fall! Can you hear those chainsaws in the distance yet?
- The 15th annual Tour de Turtles is underway from Disney's Vero Beach Resort! The Tour celebrates the "migration marathon" turtles embark on from their nesting beaches in Vero Beach to feeding grounds in the Bahamas, the Caribbean and beyond. Using satellite telemetry, researchers will track the turtles to glean more information about how far they swim — and the turtle who swims the furthest wins! But really, the data collected during Tour de Turtles is a big win for everyone involved as researchers, conservationists and government agencies learn more about these amazing sea turtles to make more informed decisions about conservation methods and policies. This year's contestants are named Neytiri and Ronal — two characters from the upcoming film "Avatar: The Way of Water." Good luck, Neytiri and Ronal!
