Hoppy New Year! Ring in 2023 with Tasty Treats at Walt Disney World

by Mommy Frog on December 30, 2022 Orlando

Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.

Here Are This Week's Theme Park Highlights:

Weekly News Roundup - NYE Treats at Disney World

  • Can you believe it's already the end of the year!? 2023 is right around the corner, and Disney released an NYE foodie guide so you can celebrate the new year with tasty treats at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Let the countdown begin!
  • Cheers! Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has a new bar and lounge called Springs Taproom. Replacing Garden Gate Cafe in the Bird Gardens area, Springs Taproom is currently offering preview hours with its official opening taking place sometime in January. The menu will feature 12 draft beers, available either year-round or seasonally, as well as other cocktails, frozen drinks and small bites.
  • Aye, matey ... LEGOLAND Florida shared a first look at its upcoming attraction, Pirate River Quest. The new boat ride navigates the natural waterways of Lake Eloise and the historic Cypress Gardens. Only a couple weeks away, Pirate River Quest opens Jan. 12, 2023 (with previews for annual passholders underway)!

Weekly News Roundup - Super Nintendo World Opening

  • The Los Angeles Times got a sneak peek of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood and revealed a few new details about the interactive land, opening Feb. 17, 2023. The main storyline is that Princess Peach's golden mushroom has been stolen and you have to help her get it back. Power-Up Bands, which will be available for $40, will track players' progress toward retrieving the golden mushroom. Hop over to our Super Nintendo Land guide for all the deets we know so far!
  • The full lists of food booths for both Lunar New Year and the DCA Food & Wine Festival are here! While detailed menus have not been released just yet, we do know that there will be two new booths during Lunar New Year — Bamboo Blessings and Wrapped with Love — and the DCA Food & Wine booths all return from last year's event.

Weekly Roundup - Price Rise

  • Walt Disney World Resort gate prices, as well as on-site hotel rates, have increased as of Dec. 8, 2022. Undercover Tourist will hold old ticket prices and hotel rates for a limited time — lock in old prices before they're gone! You can save up to $173 per ticket, for a limited time.

That’s it for the theme park news this week! Have a great weekend.

Hoppy planning!

Keep hopping, Mommy Frog!
