All You Need to Know About Idina Menzel

Upon making a name for herself (and earning a Tony Award nomination) as Maureen Johnson in the rock musical "Rent," Idina Menzel began her reign as the "Queen of Broadway." She went on to be nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Kate in the Off-Broadway production of Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party," win a Tony Award for her critically acclaimed performance in "Wicked" and win two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards when she returned to the Great White Way as Elizabeth Vaughan in the new musical, "If/Then." All of these accomplishments and more led to her being honored by the Drama League for Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre in 2018.

What established Menzel as a household name, however, was her iconic performance as the Queen of Arendelle in the 2013 global phenomenon, "Frozen." The role won her a World Music Award for Best Song Written on Film, a Teen Choice Award for Choice Actress: Voice, both a Billboard Music Award and American Music Award for Top Soundtrack and internet infamy when John Travolta famously mispronounced her name at the 86th Academy Awards. Lately, when she hasn't been busy recording studio albums, she's been returning to the big screen in films such as "Uncut Gems" and "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" (both opposite Adam Sandler), the 2021 jukebox musical adaptation of "Cinderella" (opposite pop star Camila Cabello and heartthrob Nicholas Galitzine) and the 2022 "Enchanted" sequel, "Disenchanted," where she reprised her role as Nancy Tremaine.

With a reputation as one of the most influential stage actors of her generation, Menzel received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019 and was named a Disney Legend in 2022. Her upcoming North American jaunt will feature music from her celebrated stage career, as well as songs from her seven studio albums, including her latest one, "Drama Queen."
