It's time for the Frog Family's weekly roundup of Disney and Orlando theme park tidbits from the interwebs.
We love comments! Drop us a line below if you have something to share.
This week’s highlights:
-
We're looking forward to Star Wars Weekends in May, so of course we're getting excited about the themed merchandise. Tad has set his sights on Jedi Mickey’s Starfighter, and we wager this is going to be a popular item.
-
Bet you didn't know if you get to SeaWorld Orlando early enough you could be part of the flamingo parade? Nope, we didn't either.
-
If you're at Magic Kingdom® Park or Epcot® this weekend, it's not too late to see Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny -- just hop on over!
-
Disney has added a 10k to its 2014 marathon weekend, expanding the annual event to five days. Now for the serious runners, there is the Dopey Challenge. Those who complete all four races earn six medals. That's a whopping 48.6 miles, but who's counting?
-
Over at Islands of Adventure, Universal has opened up breakfast inside Three Broomsticks to park guests (it used to be exclusive to those who booked the official Harry Potter vacation package).
-
Universal has launched a new app -- Universal ScreenPlay -- an augmented reality experience for those visiting the parks.
-
The Angry Birds have landed! Yep, Kennedy Space Center has opened an interactive exhibit called Angry Birds Space Encounter, a collaboration between NASA and Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment.
-
Disney has announced the cast of characters for its “Cars” spinoff, “Planes,” including Dane Cook, Stacy Keach and Teri Hatcher. “Top Gun” fans will love that Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards are lending their voices to the project as well.
- Have you completed the Nine by Noon Magic Kingdom® Park Challenge? Tell us how you did it!
-
About 4,000 students came to Knott’s Berry Farm in Southern California with physics problems to solve. Sounds like a good education to me!
That’s all for this week. Until next week, happy planning!
