Good news for all of you planning fall and winter trips to the Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dates for 2014 have been revealed! Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates have been announced too! Mickey plays host to both of these parties held at Magic Kingdom Park and both parties are absolutely fun for the whole family.
For 2014, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is back for a whopping 26 days. That's seven more than last year. What's more, the party will start even earlier in the season, on Labor Day. From our point of view, this is a very good thing because Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is our very favorite Disney event. Everyone gets to dress up in costumes (yes, even you Mom and Dad) and trick-or-treat throughout the park.
Even better, the party brings out special characters not normally seen in the park -- like the Seven Dwarfs and the Disney princes with their princesses. Plus, there is Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Parade and Happy HalloWishes fireworks show, which are both excellent. Parties do sell out, so more dates mean more opportunities to experience the party. The earlier dates in September generally are less crowded than the October dates, and we expect this to be true this year as well.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will also have more dates in 2014 than last year -- 19 in total this year up from 14 last year. This party is also quite magical. The park will already be decorated with all of its Christmas decorations, and Christmas songs fill the air! A magical snow falls on Main Street U.S.A. Guests can watch as the Fairy Godmother covers Cinderella's Castle with magnificent light-up icicles as they nibble on free cocoa and cookies. Not too miss are the Holiday Wishes fireworks show and Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade with special guest Santa! Some of the November Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates are as busy as the early December dates, and these too can sell out, so it's best to buy tickets in advance.
Both of the parties are separately ticketed, "hard ticket" events, meaning that regular theme park admission will not get you in. Tickets are available on Disney's website. The parties officially start at 7 p.m., but guests can arrive as early as 4 p.m. Attending a party is a great way to kick off your vacation if you are arriving morning or mid-day. Guests already at the resorts generally spend their day in another park and then hop over to Magic Kingdom Park for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
Will you be attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year? What questions do you have for us about these two amazing events?
