After another exciting NCAA Football regular season, the various bowl games make for a great holiday tradition in December and early January, plus including the all-important College Football Playoffs. College Football Bowl Games Highlights
Over the years, the number of bowl games has increased and there are now 43 games in the college bowl game schedule. Some of the more well-known matches make up the New Year's Six Bowl Games. These major bowl games rotate hosting the two semifinal games, and those winners go on to play in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, held on Jan. 8, 2024. Here are more details on the New Year's six:
Rose Bowl

The oldest and most well-known bowl game, the Rose Bowl has been a New Year's Day tradition for over a century. Held in Pasadena, CA, each team is also featured in the historic Rose Parade. This year, the Rose Bowl serves as one of the semi-finals for the playoffs. You won't want to miss the Rose Bowl Jan. 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET.
Sugar Bowl
Tied as the second-oldest bowl game, the Sugar Bowl has been kicking off for nearly 90 years. Held in New Orleans, it will also host one of the playoff semi-finals for the 2023-24 season. The Sugar Bowl will be held Jan. 1, 2024, at 7:45 p.m. ET.
Orange Bowl
Also tied as the second-oldest bowl game is the Orange Bowl. Held in Miami, they host the semi-finals every three years and host top NCAA teams in other years. This year, the Orange Bowl will be Dec. 30, 2023, at 4 p.m. ET.
Cotton Bowl
Founded in 1937, the Cotton Bowl has also been a namesake in college football for generations. Held in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the bowl game rotates hosting the semifinals. The Cotton Bowl will be held Dec. 29, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
Peach Bowl
Held in Atlanta, Georgia, the Peach Bowl has run since 1968 and was added to the New Year's Six in 2014. It hosted one of the semifinal games last year with a close 42-41 Georgia win against Ohio State. The Peach Bowl will play Dec. 30, 2023, at 12 p.m. ET.
Fiesta Bowl
Held in Glendale, Arizona, the Fiesta Bowl was founded in 1971. It hosts the semifinal game every three years. Be sure to catch the Fiesta Bowl Jan. 1, 2024, at 1 p.m. ET.
